Of course, I liked the idea and gave it serious effort. Had to be as dynamic as I could. Still feels like I cheapened out, though. Could have tried for some extreme perspective POV shot kind of thing.
Anyhow, two sexy monsters testing each other out in a "friendly" bout. I imagine 99.998% if people trying out these two would be off-screen unconscious in the first few seconds. I don't think "going easy on you" is in their lexicon. Emma is a Capoeira fighter. I've no idea what Anita's style is, but it probably has something to do with chopping down Redwoods with that tail.

It does come across as very balanced - graceful even. Really skilled martial artists are akin to a well trained dancer, trading moves and steps back and forth, and that's the impression this gives.
I'm curious who you'd like to see win. :) My one thought was that incredible sole-view form the avian; if I were trying to spar, I'd be doomed if I saw that (concentration blown). :P

Love the setting here. Martial arts have always been a thing for me, especially if it's done by two alpha females like Anita and Emma. Here we can see a contrast of styles and approaches. Anita is brutal and direct, but also not above trickery as her tail attack is something that most fighters would not expect while still having to take into account her arms and legs. Emma on the other hand has feline grace and avian agility as she flips over the attack and twists her body for a kick that is promptly blocked.
The thing about this sparring match is the calculated moves that show their skills. Anita uses her tail because nobody expects it to be used when she's already blessed with a powerful body. Emma uses capoeira because the fighting style suits a griffin since the acrobatic and dancing movements are befitting to her physiology while putting pressure on the enemy with unpredictable patterns that only Emma knows. Their mastery of martial arts is shown when Emma predicts that Anita was going to strike her with her tail instead of her other limbs and Anita anticipated that Emma was going to dodge and blocked her counterattack.
Overall, the thing that draws me most besides their fighting poses (by the way I love how you drew Emma doing a Spinning Bird Kick) is their eye contact. Anita has an expression of satisfaction at having a worthy foe in Emma and perhaps because she probably has something in store for her given that she blocked her kick. Emma has a focused gaze on her face (no small feat given she's upside down while fighting) as she's engaging a dragoness known for her ruthlessness all with the knowledge that if she is to win the match with Anita she needs to keep her eyes open and her senses sharper.
Overall, this is a great picture and a perfect way to start this year.
