Yeah, I was kind of wondering how the Prime Directive factored in to this. Then again, the Prime Directive seems mostly to be used as a justification for Starfleet to stand by and do nothing while entire species die.

Well you can't just go flying around the galaxy telling people how they should behave, that would be mixing arrogance with a god complex. But sometimes, it does get broken, wether it be by intent or, in this case, by accident.

The fact that he paraphrased Neil Armstrong and speaks English indicates the possibility of a prior Prime Directive violation or temporal manipulation. Will have to ask Daniels or Capt. Walker about this.
