They really should do it, but I don't think they will a this point just because of the sheer amount of existing content that would need to be properly tagged. People hardly use tags as it is because the system is clunky and unreliable at best and broken at worst.
What they should do is have a complex tagging system similar to what Derpibooru has, allow people to watch, "spoiler," or hide certain tags and allow the community to tag images, but have some staff members dedicated to the tag system to avoid tagging abuse (trolling, tagging something with incorrect tags to get more views, etc,) and make it so the search system gives exact results on tags, rather than similar results or items with only one tag if the search contains more than one tag. It's an issue on this site where I search my own name, Jaker and I get results including the name "Jake" even though it's obviously not what I searched. The derpibooru system would allow searches to give exact results perfectly, such as the search "Twilight Sparkle" returning only images tagged as Twilight Sparkle and not images of sparkling vampires or some kind of night scene, etc.

people who whine about that are the same people who whine about video games being murder simulators - people who don't know how to differentiate between fantasy and reality. And to be honest, it's those that are dangerous.
Guess what, not every action movie producer or consument is a mass murderer despite loads of people being killed in them.
Keep up the rape kink. it's seldomly seen with any intenbsity behind it. If you'd need victims, I'd offer my chars, but none of them are pony, so probably no go ;)

This is getting a fave from me not only because it's your art, but also VERY much for it's context. THANK YOU, I sometimes get crap in my comments and a few notes now over art pieces I have covering the same context and I tell them the same - it's just a drawing, it's just art, it's MY art and MY characters...chill out.
