Both Kimba and cub Simba are my favorite lions. I even bought the entire series, because Kimba is so darned cute, and I remember watching it as a child in the '60s.
Thanks for doing such a fine job on one of my favorites. Your coloring is excellent. :)
Warning to those who are thinking of buying DVDs:
If you buy the DVDs that were sold though kimbakids.com (which no longer exists), you will get the re-dubbed 1993 versions, with Yvonne Murray as Kimba, and a completely different theme song than the original 1966 English version. If you have tapes prior to 1993, or you buy the complete DVD Ultra set, you will have the original English version with Billie Lou Watt playing Kimba, and the original theme song (as original as it gets in English at least). In other words, if you remember watching Kimba as a child, be careful of which version you buy. One will bring back fond memories, and the other is more likely to disappoint. I very much prefer the original 1966 soundtrack myself, because it re-activated memories from when I was just six-years old. I see some of the 1993 version on TV, and it doesn't even seem like the same series. The video portion of the 1993 shows is the generally the same, though slightly shortened for time. If I play a 1966 episode along side of the same 1993 episode, the 1993 one ends about 90 seconds sooner. I haven't yet investigated if any scenes are missing in the new ones, or if they just time-compressed them.
