Gadget wasn't too comfortable being the size of a human. Though there were a number of bonuses the fact was, if she couldn't determine what made her change size, she'd be treated like a freak of nature and humanity didn't have the best track record on that front. If she could just sneak out of the room and find somewhere more discreet she'd have time to think.
