I recently acquired a book that is a compilation of photographs which supposedly have ghosts in them ('cause I'm a big dork like that) and so I quickly made this for shits and giggles when time would allow. Also working a bit more on actually putting real backgrounds into my work, which is something I need to get my ass in gear on.
Also in terms of composition and lighting (which I really messed up on with the lighting on Reynard), I tried to kind of replicate a photograph.
Damn, the more I look at it, the more I notice things that I've screwed up on.
Playing around also with a different, more scratchy, textury style of shading.
Edgar is unnecessarily pissed about this photo being taken.

also, I really really like that you tried to make it a photograph, and it does come across that way. Kind of like there was light in the room on Edgar but not Reynard and the flash of the camera kind of over-exposed the light.

We just looked at ghost photos the other day in Photography class :B
It makes me chuckle a lot that so many people thought they were real.
Apparently some photo studios would just keep around archives of every family's pictures, and then every now and then when someone had a picture taken they would make a copy of it and randomly throw in like a dead relative in the background and go WHOA HEY YOU'VE GOT A GHOST THERE ISN'T THAT COOL
It makes me chuckle a lot that so many people thought they were real.

Another thing they did was to photograph séances, by planting someone in the group and holding the seance in pitch dark, then when they take a picture the plant jumps, so everyone else is blinded by the flash, then when the picture gets developed they say the person was levitating. Or they would just throw things around in front of a camera and say WOO MAGIC.
Like cigarette cases, chairs, cats. That sorta thing.
A guy in my class did a pretty cool and creepy ghost photo a few weeks ago. Unfortunately I can't get a picture of it to show you, dang.

That's certainly what it looks like, looking up pictures of it just now. Like they'd just find a way to hide something, then when the picture is taken toss it around, an clean it up before anyone recovers from the flash so they can say it wasn't visible except in the picture.
Anything that looked kinda weird was considered ghostly too I think. Like this on guy had people get really sweaty then hold their hands on daguerrotype plates for an hour, and the result would be a ghost hand that people assumed was spiritual somehow.

DAMN! I have the book at the dorm and I just went home on break. :/
