This is a piece I've been working on to de-stress a bit since I've not stopped working since I left uni! Always so much to do.
It's done with traditional millinery wirework techniques where you use thread to join the wires securely and build a framework to build upon. The little antlers are sculpted in foam clay over millinery wire cores so they're super, super light. The ears are done in worbla with my small deer ear blank pattern. The leaves are individually hand sewn with the stitched wire frame wrapped in florist's tape to help support the stitching and for wearer's comfort.
It's a fiddly and time consuming technique but you get really lovely results. Satisfying!
It's up for sale in my etsy shop if you're interested.
