Soooo....I was musing to myself while re-watching dragonball that: "Hey...Yamcha's hair kinda looks like what a typical saiyan would have....lol he'd be a weak saiyan--guess Yams and Raditz could bond on it XD"
Annnnnd now we have this. The more I thought of it :D the more fun it became! Imagine Yamcha leaving his village for being ridiculed for having at tail---THUS he becomes a theif! Perhaps he even bonds with Puar this way, and especially Goku. Their first encounter in dragonball myb as Yamcha is about to rob him, instead he feels a sort of kinship with the only other person whose ever had a tail.
Thus he and Goku have a cute brotherly relationship, much closer than in the original.
I also like to keep the idea that he wants a girl friend----buuuuut he's scared of Bulma for another reason. Perhaps his village, that treated him so poorly, had a legend about a 'moon maiden.' A beautiful woman who would emerge during a full moon to steal souls. Now obviously the town may have thought of this to prevent Yamcha from literally 'going ape'--but sadly it does affect him. He and Bulma 'may' not even date in this AU.
Anyyyywhoooo here's my thoughts/ideas. Might be drawing a bit more of this scenario at another time :D

.... that might have been double-troublesome during the night at Pilaf's castle. And during the world tournament...
But on the other hand, it'd made the battle against vegeta awesome!...

we use raditz as an unit of power. And yamchas as decimal points. So your power is two Raditzs with five Yamchas!
The Pilaf castle... woudl have been very different. Maybe they would have fought eachother to exhaustion until morning. Or maybe bulma would have had to cut both tails when they were distracted!
That means that we'd had naked yamcha in the morning, either freaking over his sore body or his lack of tail, depending on the outcome.
on the other hand... would yamcha had agreed with Kami to having his tail removed? Or he'd been less trusting of that lame excuse?
It'd been interesting to have goku and gohan (and/or yamcha in this scenario) keeping their tails against vegeta. Great ape fight! wild vs prince! XD

That would have been cool! Some inspo can be taken from that Yamcha fancomic (where a person inhabited his body), so perhaps he could have become more useful esp. as a saiyan--albeit a weak one. But ahhh^^like the yamcha fancomic, I see THIS yamcha training w/ Goku at master roshi's and possibly later with korrin/kami. Simply because he is too afraid of bulma to want to date her (even if he thinks she's cute).
Would yamcha get his tail removed??? Well, since i see goku and yamcha having a close, brotherly relationship then yeah....if Goku were fine with it, then I bet Yamcha would be to. Who knows? Goku could comfort Yamcha as they go through removing it. Might be harder for Yamcha who has a less 'go with the flow' attitude than Goku.
