WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL? (Anudder Meme by Auntie Weedz)
The Babadook is a wonderful movie that is either a horror story or a metaphor about the isolation of mental illness. Or, it's about Wielder screaming at some entitled shits about how she's done with Star Wars. I mean, it's all up to interpretation.
The boy in the second panel is my version of baby Ani. What a little shit.

Ah, yes... them. Fans can get pretty rabid, can't they? It's basically the same as a religious devotion, but calling it something else. Gets just as toxic, too...
I honestly haven't heard much about whatever shenanigans the fandom is up to recently, nor do I have any desire to get involved in it. Best to ignore it. The opinions of fans/haters are utterly irrelevant to my personal enjoyment, and criticism, of the recent films in the series... and so should be the same with you. To each their own, and always feel free to formulate your own opinions on any subject. If fans/haters are detrimental to your experiences, tune them out as much as possible.
While I think Solo and The Last Jedi were fairly weak and fell somewhere around The Phantom Menace in terms of putting visuals much too far above storytelling quality (TLJ far more egregiously so than Solo), some data scatter doesn't spoil the general conclusion that Star Wars is, overall, an entertaining tale.

Eh, it felt like they tacked Jyn Erso onto a story about an amoral spy (who should have been a Bothan). Also it made Leia look ultra stupid retroactively.
Also they didn't actually infiltrate anything as was implied, they just broke in and stole the plans like it was a physical thing instead of, ya know, guarded information that's only given to specific individuals.
But, you know, it was fine I guess. It only retroactively screwed the series a little bit, and that's fine.

I just don't get the point in being angry. This isn't something like Firefly where everything was going GREAT and then forever ago it seems the thing you loved just stopped. There have been novels, comics, toys, video games, other movies, cartoon shows, etc. Like, just pick what you like, let the universe spiral outwards as it will in your own head, and have fun with it. But the star wars fandom in general CANNOT do this for whatever reason. It seems like everyone feels that their own head canon is what should be gospel and that everyone who has had something published in the actual canon of the story is wrong. And it makes it toxic.
I can take a lot from a reboot, but Super Lea flying through the vacuum of space back one of the ships? Um, Nope. I'll still likely see the next one. I don't follow any of the fandom sites so other than the odd journal here, so I avoid the toxicity of the Fandom Menace.
I think that if she had been out in the void, but surrounded by a blue glow, it would have worked better. Everyone would be thinking she was going Force ghost and then her eyes open and she Force shifts? flies? herself back to the ship.
That would have felt, to me at least, more in line with the mythos of the world. Vader said the power to destroy a planet was small compared to the Force and a move like that would show it.

Lets see...Lucas initially tormented us with Ewoks, thinking they'd make great plush toys that everybody wanted....Fail!
Then came JarJar Binks in Phantom Menace, the Steppenfetchet of Sci Fi. The rest of the Gungans were fine...Jarjar needed to be cut down with a light saber.
Now in the Last Jedi, we have those Pengu's being cute. Personally I would have seen Chewie look at the Pengu's making all sadface...and TEAR INTO the one he was cooking with great relish. (*Yeah Yeah, I know they had to somehow hide the Puffins on that island*)
But I also couldn't help but notice the franchise has gone more...Politically correct.
Oh and a spoiler for you Weedur....THE KID IS VADER!!

Trying to make an opinion in 2019 meme
But yeah, my username is "Jedi" and I'm pretty much done with Star Wars. Except Rouge One, cause the throw backs in that were amazing!
So if you wanna move on from Star Wars, you're more than entitled too. Why should you let people dictate your preference, right? Live your life the way you want, and people should run with your flow.

Being fair that is how most people react when I say I don't care about modern Star Wars. Once Disney took away the EU I was done,
The only thing that has made me excited about Star Wars again is the Star Wars Black Series of action figures. Mostly because they are doing original Trilogy characters.

You know what was a good idea they had? Humanizing the Stormtroopers and giving a main character a reason to feel uneasy with killing them- oh no wait Finn literally murdered a fuck load of his coworkers and laughed about it.
I guess we can only acknowledge moral gray areas when it's named characters getting involved.

As a hard Star Wars fan since the moment I could walk (grew up in the 90s when my father had every version of the original trilogy on VHS), I can understand how quickly the fans get defensive and go into Rancor mode if someone disagrees.
I like the new movies (still haven't seen Solo yet, I have been busy), but I thought Rogue One was a bit (understatement) confusing but the space battles were amazing to watch. The Last Jedi...ok, I sound like a fangirl when I say this, but so far my favorite of the three. Why? Because Mark fucking Hamill was back in the robes and looking as awesome as ever! Also, please note thanks to the original trilogy, Mark Hamill was my first ever celeb crush, so I am biased.
As much as I was upset with the Amiral being a secretive hardass (as a former sailor who has HAD superiors like this, I can personally feel Poe's frustration in the movie), and the casino scenes were shiny to look at, but not needed, more or less.
Plus, Porgs. No joke, I love Porgs.
But, all in all, as a movie full of action, humor, and a sense of 'danger', I thought the Last Jedi was a good movie. Do I see its flaws? Oh fuck yeah, I'm not afraid to point them out.
But, I cannot walk away saying I'm not bitter towards Disney, because, truth be told...I still kinda am. Why? The EU was destroyed. Years upon years of books, completely null and void. I am still terribly salty about that, but it has gone down over the years and I can say, "The new movies are fine enough."
