Mawshot of that big blue drwaggy, Alex!
New style for me, and first time sketching the inside of the mouth... heh. If anyone has any tips or critiques, I'm all for hearing some. Need all the help I can get! ^..^

Holy crap! That's beautiful!
You wanted critique, but I'm afraid I don't have any. I love the perspective, the coloring, and the anatomy of the entire thing. You brought it to life extremely well.
Though, I suppose if I had to choose something that could use improvement about the drawing, I would say that the hair could use a little more detail.
And I have to ask... What medium did you use for this?

Hey there, DarkRadiance. Thanks for the compliments! I agree with you on the hair, I just kinda threw it in there. I'll have to work on that next time!
Oh, and I used Photoshop for the whole thing. It's my medium of choice! It ended up having a very sketchy look for it, as I threw it together rather fast.

Colored Pencils? That sounds like fun! I kinda want to try that, actually.
Once you get the hang of the interface, Photoshop is simply amazing. You can actually sketch quite traditionally with it if you use opacity, which is what was done for this image. I would probably be able to recreate this traditionally using the same techniques; there really wasn't much digital trickery involved.
Obviously though, working with layers and cut-and-paste selection tools is a huge advantage, which allows digital art to far surpass traditional art when it comes to speed and efficiency. I really miss my undo buttons in art class... ^..~
Have fun in Photoshop! I look foward to seeing your work!
