I am currently inking a picture that has a canine on it and a few up close shots deal with the nose... so that made me wonder how badly I've been drawing canine noses, so I looked up actual dog noses.
They are far different than what I think in my head! And I've noticed lots of people draw in a similar way I would, too. I think it's based on assumptions or what others do or actually being simplified? I found it interesting!

Now I wanna make clear I'm not saying it's wrong what others have drawn! Those could very easily be seen as simplified versions! And I have nothing against it! (as some of them I really like, too!)

In truth this is more so for myself, and how I now wanna draw more true-to-life, though still slightly stylized (like I won't draw the fur coming off of the nose edges if it's not a realistic painting or something).

And I thought it would be helpful to others as well if they also didn't know!
