The name says it all, really!
Sometimes, nice scene shot can be found in unexpected places. These places aren't necessarily difficult to access, but in this example, I don't think that most would associate "behind the pub garden" with a view like this one!
From the western rim of the village of Cymmer, this shot is taken down the valley towards Abercregan and Duffryn Rhondda. The bridge crossing the valley is the old railways box bridge, and was the chief route between Glyincorrwg in the north and Maesteg in the next valley, with thousands of passengers and tons of coal being carried back and forth through a tunnel between the Afan and Llynfi valleys. Now, the railways lines may be gone, and the tunnel may be sealed and filled, but relatively small structures like this among towering valley walls remind one of one's past on a near daily basis.
I also realise that this is my 250th submission! Thank you all for your generous support; you are all far too good to this Cymric canine!
Hope you enjoy!
