She used to be a cop, but was later transfered to the SRT unit as the situation in the city became more and more dangerous. But when the government replaced the police department and us armed forces personnel with robots (called "Patriots"), she decided to form the "American Freedom Force" with other former police or military personnel, becoming the leader of the Freedom Fighters. Because of the motivations and methods of this group, she's now seen as a terrorist by the government.
