Deva: "Either until we score a human trainer with a full team of six, or another one of those 'legendary' Pokemon, whichever comes first."

*ring-ring* "Hi, this is Deva. I'm not available. Please leave a message." *beep* "Tera, you're not going to believe this. Jasper says he smells a legendary bird. Tell everyone to make sure one of the spare rooms is completely empty -- we're going to need one." *beep*

A few moments later. . .

Tera: "Hey Deva. Did you catch the legendary bird?"

Deva: "No. . . No I did not."

Tera: "Really? It got away?"

Deva: "Umm. . . Not exactly."

Tera: "Well. . . What happened?"

Deva: "I, uh. . . Got a little distracted. . ."

Jasper: "Keep going."

Deva: *sigh* "By a squirrel. . ."

Tera: "Oh. Well. . . Okay, not a problem. We still have that spare room cleared if she needs a new home-"

Deva: "Not exactly."

Tera: "Huh? Wait, did you take a pet unwillingly?"

Deva: *blushes* "I couldn't help it. I haven't had a squirrel in my home since before I got my portal."

Tera: ". . . . . ."

Deva: "Well. . . There was a legendary bird somewhere in the area. Technically it's not a violation of my oath if I'm, you know, protecting others from harm."

Tera: ". . . . . ."

Deva: "It'll be fine! I found her around the same place Verity met her voreyball partner -- I'm sure she's used to it by now."

Tera: ". . . . ."

Deva: "Verity got to keep Arie as an overnight guest. Can't I at least keep her that long? Or at least long enough to do her paperwork? You know, those legal documents that don't matter for beans because nobody is ever coming back with me to my side of the Void?"

Tera: "Hm? Oh, sorry, I'm not sitting here silently judging you. Just. . . Making a mental note."
