Earlier this evening, I was digging thru my boxes in the basement, looking for a couple old issues of CARtoons magazine, that I thought might be packed up in there someplace, when I stumbled over a couple pieces of historical interest.
The first was the furry party poster I put up a couple hours ago. This was the other one.
This is the first drawing of Cobalt, ever.
There's no date on the drawing, but judging by the homework assignment on the back, this was done during the second of my 2 1/2 years at The Kubert School. That may have been 92' I'd need to do more digging and find something from my classes that year with a date on it.
The notation along the right-hand side reads:
Headband: Silver (crossed out: Gold)
Eyes: Silver/Blue
Fur: Dk Grey
Ordinary Pebble (or is it?)
Cloth: Dk Blue
The only major change to his design is the necklace he wears. Here it's pictured as a stone with the cord going thru a hole in the middle, whereas now it's a stone with the cord wrapped around it.
There was one additional note on the paper which isn't included here:
'Inspired by "pop goes the world" by Men Without Hats.'
I'm assuming that was what I had playing on my walkman at the time.

HOLY SMOKES!, i feel like that should be one of those "first edition" kinda things that are worth tons of money heh.
still, seeing him like this, makes me remember that most furries started the same way; a drawing on an ordinary piece of paper.
i started out as a scribble hee hee
