A Fantasy Date
It had been quite a while since their last date, with the holidays Pixie and Lone hadn’t had much time to themselves because most of their time was visiting family and partying. It was enjoyable because seeing family is nice, but they never truly got any alone time. Once the new year rolled in, they decided they would have a fun little date to their favorite Chinese buffet. Lone picked Pixie up at his house and they traveled together to the restaurant. It didn’t take long, and they were there before they knew it. It does help they liked to chat and look for fancy cars while driving on the road. They entered the restaurant together and Lone was ready to be seated like normal, but Pixie stopped him and stated to the lady at the front desk, “Yes I had a reservation for two.” The lady smiled and asked, “Pixie yes?” He nodded and smiled, “That’s me!” With a respectful bow of her head she gestured into the restaurant, “Right this way sir.” Lone grabbed onto Pixie’s jacket and tugged on it whispering to him, “You got a reservation to a buffet?” Pixie followed the waitress and whispered back, “Well…I didn’t have to but I wanted it to be more special than usual because it’s our first date of the new year.” Lone chuckled and poked at Pixie’s back, “Ok ok. Fair enough.” They were led to a back private room. It was styled almost like an anime scene. The table was knee height and two large pillows for sitting were on adjacent sides of the table with fancy chinaware all set up next to a large bottle of sake and a couple of cups. Pixie happily flopped down onto the pillow and motioned for Lone to join him on the open pillow, “Let’s get comfy and enjoy our little date, shall we?” Lone took off his jacket and hung it on the coat hanger on the wall next to Pixie’s and flopped down on his own pillow. Pixie poured them both some sake raised his glass handing the other to Lone, “To us, and to many more wonderful times together in this new year!” Lone smiled and took the glass raising it and tapping it against Pixie’s, “To us, and the new year!” With that they both knew that tonight was going to be special, little did they know just how special it was going to become.
The two Angelic dragons went to the buffet and piled on the food. They ate their share and went back for seconds, this time grabbing fortune cookies. They finished their second plate and opened their cookies. Pixie read his then looked up at Lone and smiled, “Mine’s pretty neat want to read yours first?” Lone smiled and swallowed half of the cookie he was monching on and read his fortune, “A new year begins with a date to remember.” Pixie’s smile faded and he huffed, “Well that’s no fun, I got the same one.” Lone tilted his head, “Huh? Really? Can I see?” Pixie handed over the fortune and it did indeed say the same thing. Pixie poured some more sake for the both and raised his glass, “Oh well, to a date to remember!” Lone raised his glass and exclaimed, “To a date to remem—" He was cut off by a loud rumble and a sudden shake. The whole room began to jump and jostle around and they both clamored under the stout table and grabbed each other as if they were in a comedic movie where they get an earthquake. Pixie hugged Lone and Lone hugged Pixie, both clutching for dear life. “What the hell?! An earthquake???” Pixie exclaimed. Lone was frozen with fright and had buried his head in Pixie’s chest. Pixie followed his lead and closed his eyes too as they both waited for the tremors to end. They didn’t last too long and once Pixie lifted his head from atop Lone’s head he grew speechless. Lone mumbled from his chest, “Is it over?” Pixie said nothing so Lone asked again, “Pixie? Is it over?” Pixie just stammered, “Uh-uh…kinda? You…you should just take a look…” Lone raised his head and looked around, “What...the…hell…” They were no longer in the small room they had been in, their surroundings were no longer adorned with the typical Chinese décor, the table they had been hiding under was gone, and even the very floor they sat on was gone and was replaced with a comfy bench. A bench that was in the middle of a park, not just any park, Central Park!! Upon further inspection both were in 20s attire with a fancy suit and top hats. Pixie looked a Lone baffled and spoke, but his accent had changed as well! “Look here mah dear, I see you’ve become quite the dashin fellow.” He spoke as if he had come from the time period, they were now currently sitting in. Pixie raised his hand to take off his cap and noticed he was clutching a bouquet of roses. He blushed and glanced around, no one was in site. He thought ‘how in the heck is this happening?!’ Lone had surveyed his surroundings quickly but spent more time surveying Pixie. He looked so dashing in his attire… His eyes glanced over at the bouquet and Pixie seemed surprised, “Oh uhm… I gess these are fer ya.” He handed the bouquet to Lone with a slight blush on his face. Lone accepted them and Just placed them in his lap laying his head on Pixie’s shoulder, “It’s a sweet gesture indeed…but I ‘ave no fookin clue ‘ow we got here.” Pixie just plopped his head against Lone’s with a baffled stare into the evening glow across the park, “Me ‘neither.” They both closed their eyes and the rumble began once again.
Soon after the rumble ceased Pixie opened his eyes. He noticed he had on the same suit as before except this time his overcoat was off, and he had a leather strap around his sounders that had an empty gun holster to his hip. It was odd. He scanned the room a bit more seeing as how Lone was no longer next to him to find where he had gone to. The room was adorned like an old cheesy detective office and apparently Pixie was the detective. If that was the case, he began to suspect what Lone might be dressed as… He looked around the room a little more and in the corner of the room Lone was seated with his eyes still closed. He was dressed in a fancy red dress and sitting with his knees slightly to the side and a small handbag in his lap. Atop his head was a large fancy hat that had his glowing halo surrounding it. Pixie had to admit Lone was a little cute in the dress…but it defiantly didn’t fit his beloved, “Uhm…Lone?” Lone opened his eyes and looked at Pixie. He was surprised to see him adorned in an old-style detective outfit with gun holster and all. It was quite the odd outfit. He then felt a strange weight on his head. Why he hadn’t noticed before was beyond him. He reached up and took off the item on his head and in his hands was the large fancy hat. Lone was confused and looked at the rest of his attire. Lone couldn’t help but gasp in shock and stand abruptly from his seat, “By golly I’ve been dressed!!” Pixie saw an opportunity and snickered, “It seems you have my dear…” for dramatic effect he slammed his hands on the desk in front of him and glared down, “It’s quite the mystery… A mystery I plan to solve.” Lone rolled his eyes and placed his hand on his hips rolling his eyes. “Please get on with it… I am worried I also have a thong on and I do not want to spend that much time here to find out…” Pixie remained in character and swiftly approached Lone and swept him off his feet, “Time is such a trivial pursuit, but for you I’ll gladly take time to solve this case! Even if I have to answer that question for you~” Lone grasped around his neck and grumbled, “You tease…” Pixie smirked, “Only for you.” He planted a smooch on Lone’s lips and they closed eyes sharing a passionate kiss as the room began to rumble.
Lone kept his eyes closed and hoped he was out of that damned dress… once the rumbling stopped, he took a deep breath. His nostrils filled with the scent of a cool spring breeze. He heard the wind rustling and opened his eyes. Above him was a tall cherry blossom tree. Somehow everything around him looked…more…anime? With his back against the tree he watches the wind carry the pedals down in a slow-motion sort of style. After addressing his surroundings, he checked what he was wearing. Turns out he was in the casual suit Japanese school boys wear with suit tie and all. His interest became peaked when he remembered Pixie would also be in similar attire. He perked his ears up and looked around, he was nowhere in site. He felt a little bummed. This was the first time in all the transitions he didn’t immediately see Pixie. Just as he was getting ready to hop up and go find him he heard footsteps on the ground behind him around the tree. He glanced around it and what caught his eye made him snicker a little. Pixie was standing there fussing over himself frustrated. The reason? He was dressed in the typical school boy outfit but it was two sized too small. Lone initially felt bad for Pixie knowing how much he loved suits but also remembered how Pixie teased him about being in a dress so now it was time for some payback!! Lone stepped around the tree loosening his tie a little trying to look like the ‘sexy guy’ in an anime scene. Pixie turned and saw Lone leaning against a tree with his tie slightly undone and shirt slightly untucked. He couldn’t help but blush slightly, but it wasn’t enough to make the frustrated feeling go away, “Lone c’mon…this isn’t funny let’s just close our eyes and go to another ‘thing’ please Lone?” Lone just smiled and ran his fingers through his anime style hair and flipped it in the signature twenty-four frames a second of anime, “I catch you here waiting for me? Is there something you need to tell me?” Pixie grumbled and fussed with his tight suit, “C’mon lone, this thing embarrasses me I need to get it off…” Lone approached Pixie and swept him into his arms, “Then Pixie-kun, I’ll be more than happy to help get those off.” Pixie pushed against Lone’s snout, “You’re making me cringe you blue bafoon…” Lone chuckled and kissed Pixie and he kissed back. They closed their eyes and their surroundings began to rumble yet again.
They opened their eyes and instantly they both knew where they were. That fateful day in March. The one where their futures changed to run a path close to one another. Lone’s eyes filled with tears and so did Pixie’s. Like an image in an old scrapbook come to life they were reliving their beginnings. Without more than a word Pixie took Lone into his arms and Lone took Pixie in his. Friends for years turned to a love they now shared more than they could have ever imagined. Pixie pressed his forehead against Lone’s, “I don’t ever want this feeling to end.” Lone smiled, “Who ever said it had to end? That’s what love is all about right?” Pixie nodded, “Right.” They then shared a passionate kiss and once again, the room began to rumble. They panicked wanting to stay longer in the moment that changed their lives forever but once they opened their eyes, the room was back to the way it was. The same small room they had reserved at the start of their date. They were now in each other’s arms sitting together. Lone smiled and gazed lovingly into Pixie’s eyes, “I love you.” Pixie responded, “I love you too.” They kissed once again, but the room did not rumble. There was however a flash. Although it was brief, they saw suits, and a party. A big one, for them? Maybe…a wedding? Who knows, only time and the bonds of true love will tell.
