
Got the mounting slots cut for the bottom of the trays and obviously got them fit and glued them together. Needed a tiny bit of filler for the corners and finally put the first coat of stain/polyurethane on everything. Small piece in the middle is just to show the difference between stain on the right and the raw wood on the left.
And the reason for the blue tape on the bottom of the trays is that I put black velvet liner on the bottom piece before putting them together

I plan on trying out oils on future projects, particularly Danish Oil, I just love how it looks.
these however need the polyurethane just for the added protection it gives the wood, these are going to be getting taken to dozens of different craft/art/jewelry shows this year, and well, the person getting them can be a little rough on some things. The more protection the better
