So, some context for those not familiar with the #TweetFur hashtag: It's an art trend that started up on (where else?) Twitter earlier this month when someone came across the site's official guidelines for using their logo. One of the rules listed was "Don't anthropomorphize the logo," so... what did this user proceed to do? She anthropomorphized the logo and tweeted the picture with the hashtag in question. The rest is history, as they say, and a bunch of artists have taken part in it already. And now I have, too.
Bird characters... the furry community calls them "avians," I think? I don't come across a lot of them online... Anyway, they aren't really a thing I draw very often. It's not that I don't like bird anthros, it's just that they just aren't all that common a choice for a lot furry artists and I rarely have a reason to draw them.
Decided to take a step back from some of the more elaborate sketches I've been doing lately this time in favor of something simpler. I like doing those detailed sketches, but they're a lot of work and it's sometimes nice to make something that doesn't take a good deal of time to execute. At least, this drawing was supposed to be simple, anyway... it took quite a few attempts to get it to look even this good due to having difficulties with the arms and fitting everything onto the canvas properly. I actually was almost going to scrap this particular sketch and start over yet again due to some small issues present (arms are still a little off-looking, logo and hashtag on shirt doesn't curve enough with the fabric, beak perspective not perfect)! Only reason I didn't was because I couldn't readily find another appropriately-sized cardboard scrap to work with and I guess the inherent flaws this particular drawing has aren't too bad... I mean, it's still presentable, right?
While Twitter's default layout is cyan-and-white, I decided this would also be a good time to experiment with blues in general. Granted, I only have just the two blue pens, but Twitter does have a night mode that changes the white background to a dark blue, so it's still a valid color! Also figured I'd try to give the character small breasts since I can't imagine birds would have much use for such things, even when anthropomorphized (their beaks would no doubt make things... uncomfortable, to say the least). I always struggle with drawing smaller boobs and have for years (see: my character Sharon, who often winds up with breasts at least one cup larger than I had intended), but they didn't come out too bad here! But what do you all think? Feel free to let me know in the comments!

The Twitter bird is properly of... um, Twitter, I guess.
...
Part of my "Trash Drawing" series, in which I make rough sketches on cardboard scraps with whatever pens I can scavenge during the quieter moments of my day job. Due to the rough nature of these drawings, coupled with the canvas being a literal piece of garbage, I have taken to calling these sketches "Trash Drawings."
