In another installment of my ongoing feud between 'Rob Cat' and 'Captain Furry' - possibly subtitled "Who Blows Up Who?" - the bobcat had the upper hand (er, paw) this time around, as he inflates the lion. And, for good measure, Rob decides to use the helium-filled big cat for advertising purposes in promoting the "Midwest Furfest" - which the Captain isn't too far away from in RL!
Unfortunately, Rob's promotional itinerary includes a flight directly over the state of Colorado... and unless some of you have been living in a cave during October, 2009, that was when a certain 'reality show' contestant created quite a stir when he claimed that his son stowed away on board a large mylar balloon shaped like a flying saucer - grabbing all the attention on both network and cable news channels worldwide!
So, it comes as no surprise that the sight of an overly distended lion-shaped balloon in the sky gets more attention for this human interloper, and it's up to the bobcat to offer an immediate rebuttal to this situation from mid-air!

It's really hard to say, Konanarillah. Why not check out both my gallery and Captain Furry's, look for past works where one party inflates the other, and see who currently leads in this series of "blowing-up" battles. Personally, I'd lost track, a couple of inflations ago!
As someone who looks at this sort of thing frequently, I have reservations about the use of the phrase "Balloon Boy."
Surprisingly, this is the first bit of work I've seen to address the whole event. Well, addressing current events in your drawings is what I've noticed you do notably often.

The "Balloon Boy" hoax was so recent, I'm surprised that nobody else in "FA" chose to lampoon it. Of course, the fact that nobody got killed (or even hurt) in this incident, automatically makes it 'open season' for anyone to poke fun at the Heene family. (TV show hosts/comedians like Jay Leno, David Letterman, and Bill Maher do it all the time.) But if there was any sort of fatality or injury stemming from the events of October, 2009, then said family wouldn't be targeted at all.
In addition to the "Balloon Boy" hoax, there are other subjects of 2009 that I want to tie-in to my 'fat furry' and 'furry inflation' artwork - even if said subjects are now considered outdated - such as the "Cash for Clunkers" program (having a 'fat furry' try to get money for his old fridge), the 20th anniversary of the tearing down of the Berlin Wall (using a 'fat furry' as a wrecking ball), and past movie releases (with another obese beast whose rumbling belly cannot decide which flick to see at the Multiplex... "Julie & Julia" or "Cloudy... With a Chance of Meat Balls"). I hope you get the idea... Just saying.

The 'Part 1' is really a reference to the RL news story about the Heene Family and the "Balloon Boy" hoax involving their son Falcon. (Consult any search engine for more details about the incident.)

At least, this news story (of sorts) took the world's mind away from the war and the economy, if only for a few hours, at least...

It's always nice to make fun of a terrifying situation^^ I feel sorry for those who supported the family. They must feel like they were used. I know I would. I'd be blooming pissed T_T
You and the Cap'n, tsk, tsk. Always a fussin' and a feudin' with your air tanks and your carbonated beverages *snickers and snaps photo's of you on the lion-balloon* I don't honestly know who I like seeing inflated more, Lionardo, or you, Rob. Both of you have your own unique charm when inflated. I believe you are the one to watch out for, because with the Cap'n, it's almost definitive he'll knab someone and blow them up, but with you! you are ever the one who seems inconspicuous. Therefore, you are not to be taken lightly >:3
I am thrilled to see this picture finally up and about! I confess, I did not know you could look so angry, though, I sympathize with why you would be *tosses a can at Heene* Shuddap alreay you hasbeen con artist! Your plot failed and now you're gonna lose custody of your kids!
I'm sorry you're not going to the convention. If I had the money, I'd pay for you to stay there, and for you to enjoy yourself, so you're not stuck in debt like the last time you attended a convention. Sadly, I've only got #25.00 CND in my savings account. Maybe one day, I can give out free money to all my friends <:3
Oh, and it's almost time for snow to fall where I live, so I hope to get pictures by mid-November^^ *hugs you, then ties a string to your tail and watches you be carried off by a blimp* have fun, and see you, hahaha!!! XD
