That pillow might become the next casualty whenever those baby fangs come out. I don't know if Utrom skin is durable against baby fangs - baby teeth-, but, I guess so?
Also, Ch'rell should be thankful for any amount of reading time that he gets near the baby, for babies can be unpredictable and fickle beings.

The best guess I can throw out is that maybe while they're still little, their teeth are rounded out, until they get their adult set.
Mostly on account of my theory that Utroms are technically coastal carnivores, and have all the teeth and mouth size/strength for snapping things/cracking open shells. Which young Utroms wouldn't have the strength for anyway. So might as well not bother with sharp teeth.
