The Newmaker tries his hardest to win the affections of Alchemy, much to her great annoyance. Having learned that the shade has a fondness for cats the djinn has disguised himself as a very obnoxiously colored exotic shorthair in hopes of getting a little attention from her. However, having never encountered a domesticated feline until this discovery, he doesn't quite perfectly mimic their sound. Evidently this noise that he's tried so hard to make has both startled Ephemeris (the shade's mount), and Alchemy herself; and she is not exactly happy for that disruption!

A very silly little greeting card insert. Mainly done with watercolors, gouche, and pen on much more appropriately weighted paper. Alchemy (and her creation Ephemeris) is one of my characters while The Newmaker is another one of Ptenhouse's.
