Hiya guys and girls solstice here wanted to put your day on paws to greet you!
This is the 3rd part of a series where I try out new things, known as the "Experimentals". This time I was trying out a new shading type and messing around with different layer multipliers and filters basically visually changing the image a little bit, I also tried out a new method to construct the character which takes much longer but allows me to show fur, short or long on characters bodies.
The shading is also new in effect as Ive tried to emphisise on fluffy characters and drawn in fur with each shading layer, makes the image much more striking in my opinion I have tried this before but not to the same effect and also this is the second time i have used the airbrush with the shading.
This is also the first time ive drawn a half body shot of a character.
The outlines are also experimental, not only from their shape but also due to the techniques used to color and shade them.
The pose solstice is in here is also experimental, as I have not previously attempted to draw characters that have their paws up to the camera on glass or anything like that.
I also found out something with solstice, her fur changes colour according to the Solstice cycles, I guess that is where she got her name, She is green during the summer solstice, and white during the winter solstice, though I am unsure why she has not changed color before, maybe now she has "matured".
What do you guys and girls think? what do you like about this image and what do you think can be improved? any feedback would be greatly appreciated :>
Cheers
