This is my head cannon about Star Fox Command. That it is all just a nightmare that Fox is having, just like how Super Mario Bros 2 was just a dream Mario was having. Think about it. It makes sense. All the plot holes and inconsistencies in the story, all the multiple endings, the needless drama, everyone out of character. This is all of Fox's worst fears manifesting themselves in his dreams do to the fact that he is super stressed. And the multiple endings are due to the fact that this is a recurring dream that is slightly different each time he has it. Poor Fox needs a hug... and maybe a long vacation wouldn't hurt either.

thank you! i hated the story and mean spirited-ness of command. only thing i liked about it is that you could play as other characters with their own designed ships that had unique attributes, and fox and krystal had a kid in one ending. also falco had a couple of funny lines
"no! bad wolf! sit, stay!"
(to dash) "what do you want a box of crayons?"
"i'll make you go wee wee wee all the way home!"

Would be nice if it was true. I don't mind drama, but the story in Command was really weird.
The franchise became half-dead after that game and it is very possible that everything post-Star Fox 64 (including Krystal) has been erased from the current timeline. If only Command was a better game.

Ordinarily, I hate this sort of theory or reveal, because it's such a lazy copout. However, in this case, I'll make an exception, because it's the only logical explanation for the multiple inconsistencies with the rest of the franchise.
Well, either that, or it's a combat simulation designed to test Fox's leadership capabilities when faced with a worst-case scenario.
