Hey there y’all..... I gotta rant at y’all a little bit... ain’t mad at you, I just gotta say something.
Horses are great. They’re amazing animals— strong, beautiful, and if you raise em right, fantastic partners in life. But please, people, if you’re going to have them, take care of them. Don’t be keeping them in chicken wire pens, don’t be feeding them grass clipping with pesticides all over them, don’t be keeping one all by it’s lonesome, and please, don’t go abusing them. They need love and support just like you— when you ride, you ride as a team, not as servant and served. They aren’t letting you ride because they MUST— that’s a 2000 pound animal, hoss, if it truly didn’t want you on it, trust a gal, you wouldn’t be on it. You are your horse’s closest companion, it’s loyal friend, it’s brave leader. Act like it. Work with your horse, don’t try to make it work for you. If it won’t do something you want it to do, it’s flat out because it doesn’t trust you. Teach it to trust you, then. Be TRUSTABLE. Horses are everything the Western and war movies make them out to be, but you gotta be willing to be their cowboy and their soldier first. Have patience... it’s worth it.
Thanks for reading, I’m just frustrated at some people and had to get it out. Feel free to repost for the cause, with credit of course... That said, credit of the photo goes to Two Monkeys Photography as one of my senior pictures.
Thanks guys. Ride on.
