My goodness, isn't this shapeshifter pleased to see the reception he got!
He's not lying by the way! He's actually popped up in my gallery a few times now, even since the beginning!

Now that he's accrued a bit of a following, I find myself oh so very tempted to actually elaborate on who he is or what his name is! Unfortunately, it's uh... kind of complicated. To put it bluntly, this shapeshifter fellow isn't technically my character. He's actually my personal interpretation, my headcanon if you will, of a character that's very well known elsewhere. Who that character is, I am too embarrassed to say, much to the shifter's chagrin The astute out there might be able to piece together who that might be going by his color palette, but then again, even that's changed a bunch from the character that inspired this whole concept, so who knows!
Moving on, this character has actually been on my mind for years now, years before I even started this account! I'd link some of the art I drew of him back then but most of it is, uh, VERY personalized. Back when I first became infatuated with this concept, I was actually so embarrassed by it. This headcanon felt EXTREMELY indulgent compared to the character who inspired it, so I kind of ended up repressing it pretty hard. "There's no way he would actually behave like this, shifting to someone else's benefit. Outside of this teasing, I'd be so boring too so I can't see this working out." I thought to myself.
And so, in the interest of not ruining this character, I just put it out of mind!
And then you know what?
the friggen guy started LEAKING INTO MY DREAMS INSTEAD LKJHSADFLS
My monsters NEVER make it into ANY of my dreams and this guy somehow managed to at least influence them in his favor! He never showed up in it himself, but I know it was him who caused it. The dream was extremely simple. I dreamed that I woke up in my bed and found a letter taped to my ceiling, which then immediately just floated down right onto my face. I can't remember the exact text written on the letter, but I still remember the summary to this day. On this letter, he wanted to make clear:
"I give you absolute permission to dream of me in any context you like and no matter how dumb or stupid or unlikely you think those dreams might be, not only will I willingly act them out, but I'll enjoy it too"
I then proceeded to actually wake up in real life and then immediately fucking die because OH MY FRIGGEN SLDKJFHSSDLKJFHLSDKJFHSDF SDLFKJHSDF

I cannot begin to describe how much that sort of things to me. EVERY time since them, I'll get this really bizarre, overwhelming ideas and think "OH GOD, he wouldn't ACTUALLY DO THAT SORT OF THING WOULD HE?"

God that means the world to me because of how incredibly niche my interests are. You're probably thinking "Inflatables monsters? That doesn't seem too odd!" Let me put it this way: Those are the NORMAL kinks compared to some of the other stuff I'm into. As to what those might be, unfortunately, I'm just not comfortable saying! All I'll say is that while it's nothing immoral or wrong, but it is something that I would lose like half my followers if I posted it. I'm just not comfortable sharing it unfortunately!
THAT ASIDE, I desperately want to branch them off into their own independent character!
BUT HE WON'T LET ME LSKJDHFLSDKFH
Every time I suggest it, he gets slightly disappointed, as if I'm trying to escape the fact that it's 'actually him' sdflkjhsdfl
He wants to make it ABSOLUTELY CLEAR that it's actually him who's doing these absurd, overwhelmingly cute things, and not just a character I specifically crafted for this and god damnit I can barely handle it, he's still so cute after all these years lkjsdhflkjsdhf

Oh believe me, as the canon goes with the character this is based off of, he can do anything if you really put your mind to it.
And I'm glad you like my description of how this character came to be! Now that I've read it with fresh eyes, I kind of felt like I wrote it in a bit of haste seeing as I was trying to fit everything in tweet format, but none the less, it gets the point across! Regarding doing what he likes, as you can probably tell, I don't have a lot of choice in the matter /)//(\
