Gironian was a SuperHuman Warrior Beast who saw action on Ep.13 of the Great Mazinger anime, along with the Bird Type Peacong. His color scheme was Blue, with Light and Dark Lavender tunes and Purple forearms. He had a white body shield with Red sharp shoulder pads and blue sharp blade on the top of the head. The monster's face was light blue while the real face in the abdomen was green. Gironian had a Scythe blade attached to his waist via a chain, held a Red scutum shield in the right arm, as well he fired a adhesive substance from it mouth.

Gironian presence in the episode is brief – As Great fights Peacong, Gironian just appears from behind (having be launched off scene at some point) and hits Great Mazinger with his Chain Scythe blade. He then melts the floor, having Great stuck, while Peacong disrupts Great's systems with its electromagnetic waves, preventing him from escaping. But before the two could finish off Great, Venus A arrives and blasts Peacong with her rockets, allowing Great to escape and have to fight with Gironian, but the beast helps stall them as the Mikelos continues its attack on the Science Fortress - Staff of the science fortress evacs the facility on lifeboats but many are blasted by the Mikelos, and Prof. Tonda, the designer of Great Mazinger's Drill Pressure Punch, dies protecting Shiro from a laser hit which he takes.

At that moment Borot arrives and saves Shiro, and joins the fight, only to have it been captured and become a barganing ship in exchange for Enzo Kabuto's surrender. Realizing the Monsters were just set up, Tetsuya finishes Gironian with Double Pressure Punch and Great Burner. He then takes off to rescue the others from Mikelos, and arrives in time to save Enzo, who had already changed place with Borot. Great then attacks the Mikelos with Thunder Break, causing internal damage on the ship and forcing the General to retreat and vowing retribution for the defeat. By episode's end, the Staff throws a flowers into the ocean, in memory of Prof. Tonda.

Gironian has made other appearances in the franchise, like in the Mazinkaiser vs the Great General of Darkness Deathmatch OVA, where he was under the command of Dante at the ruins of the Photon Power Lab. When Mazinkaiser is activated, he was decimated with the ground force by one Kaiser's Tornado Punch, before Koji turn on the leaders. He was more slicker than his original, with Green, White, Blue, Black and Yellow as part of his color scheme, and the Torso seem to be covered by fur rather than be Mechanical in original Great Anime. As well, he had a massive Sharp blade coming out from his back. His shield was also longer and slicker and could fire projectiles from it.
