In Memory of Elizabeth Hartman
This picture is kind of personal to me. Elizabeth Hartman is the actress who played the voice of Mrs. Brisby in the movie, 'Secret of Nimh' which came out in 1982 the year I was born.
This character has had such a big impact on my whole life that learning of her death was not easy for me to accept and so I entered a week of mourning.
This was drawn durring that week to help pay my respects to an Actress who brought this character to life, and taught me much about human nature at such a young age.
Thank you Elizabeth Hartman

Hehe, well that depends on what you mean by 'single'.
My heart is tamed by my Loves. But I do have free reign of myself. If that can make any sense to you. XD I doubt you'd like trying to pair up with me though. heh, no offence of course. Most people cannot handle me let alone date me and handle that! ^_~

I loved the movie, and her voice too.
Always sad to see a good person depart this world, while so many evil ones don't seem to do it at all. Dick Cheney for example, he got to be million years old, man who burnt roma or something :P
Anyway, Elizabeths memory shall inspire us rest of our lives, in a sense that way she lives on anyway :) Let's make her proud ;)

Heh, thanks. Man, seems were starting to lose a few more good ones, too. Don't know if you watched it, but the gentleman who played Mr. Humphries on 'Are You Being Served' died just a few days ago, too. On another note, didn't realize that NIMH had other movies... I knew that there were some scenes cut out, but that's about it.
wow 11 years ago.... I spotted this when glancing at past comments after someone commented on this pic today. Saw this...
Yeah, Land before time 1 was GREAT, 2-15+ (however many they did) not worth it. Pretend they don't exist. The Secret of Nimh 2 at least wasn't as bad... it was just total shit and not worth our time to watch! MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT to the Land Before Time sequels ;P

It took me years to find out. The only reason I did find out was because I searched her out. I was trying to find some place I could send her a message and thank her for what she did in that role. It did inspire many aspects of my life, my way of thinking and I can argue contributed in part to how I keep things in perspective.
Well, as it happens, Science is working on a method of rejuvenating that will replace surgery and potentially regrow limbs etc. Curing the condition of death and all that sure, but reviving isn't so simple. The reality is the person dies, they are dead. Everything that made them, their brains are lost. CLoning is, welll... difficult. : /
Yeah, I had no idea for the longest time. Having grown up, I decided to track her down and thank her for having done such a great job in Mrs. Brisby's voice. That character has had such an impact on me through my life in many ways, and then I discovered this. *hugs*
First thing I ever posted. I'm glad you can appreciate it. The story behind this picture, she brought to life a character that was a child hood hero of mine for most of my life. SO I went to seek out the voice actress to thank her for the influences she has had upon my life. Only to discover, well... what happened to her in the end. I was really broken hearted I had to do 'something.' I'm glad you are touched by this too Zidders. (Smile as we can on such a topic)
Heh I suppose this is kind of opposite of the spectrum from what you made ^_~ But we both appreciate it all. ^_^ Thanks for drawing your picture. It always makes me pleased when I see someone whom loved so much. It showed, in the details and dedication to the picture. :)

It's a story I found really meaningful to me due to my own struggles with depression. I'm a bit torn, though as I feel it's important to inform people about how depression and suicide affect people in order to help reduce the stigma but at the same time I feel bad making people feel sad whenever they see this movie. In the end there are so many more stories I can share to help people through tough times and understand more about the subject that I pretty much keep it to myself. In the end I think she'd rather be remembered for the joy she's brought so many.
