I loved the movie, and her voice too.
Always sad to see a good person depart this world, while so many evil ones don't seem to do it at all. Dick Cheney for example, he got to be million years old, man who burnt roma or something :P

Anyway, Elizabeths memory shall inspire us rest of our lives, in a sense that way she lives on anyway :) Let's make her proud ;)

Heh, thanks. Man, seems were starting to lose a few more good ones, too. Don't know if you watched it, but the gentleman who played Mr. Humphries on 'Are You Being Served' died just a few days ago, too. On another note, didn't realize that NIMH had other movies... I knew that there were some scenes cut out, but that's about it.

It's not as bad as how many Land Before Times there are now! It's like, part one was really great! One of my favorite animated movies to date! But... part 2-10 plus the others after they stopped counting!!! ARGH!

Wait, 2-10? Wow, I must really be living under a rock! Heh, I might have to check them out just to see for myself. Out of curiosity, does it still have the same general voice cast?

Yeah, Land before time 1 was GREAT, 2-15+ (however many they did) not worth it. Pretend they don't exist. The Secret of Nimh 2 at least wasn't as bad... it was just total shit and not worth our time to watch! MASSIVE IMPROVEMENT to the Land Before Time sequels ;P

The Secret of Nimh two was much much better as a sequal then the Land Before Time part 2+

Well, land before time I never took stock in, especially since they have about 15 or so of them, not to mention side stories and such. *shudder*

It took me years to find out. The only reason I did find out was because I searched her out. I was trying to find some place I could send her a message and thank her for what she did in that role. It did inspire many aspects of my life, my way of thinking and I can argue contributed in part to how I keep things in perspective.

Wow...what a creepy coincidence...I actually JUST got finished watching my DVD of this movie, hopped on to check my messages and saw this pic...I had NO idea that she had passed, and so long ago.

She died the day after I was born, how sad. That was a wonderful movie, one of the few with a female in the leading roll that I really enjoyed.

Well, as it happens, Science is working on a method of rejuvenating that will replace surgery and potentially regrow limbs etc. Curing the condition of death and all that sure, but reviving isn't so simple. The reality is the person dies, they are dead. Everything that made them, their brains are lost. CLoning is, welll... difficult. : /

I love this movie, too bad they turned the sequel into a musical, though. The lawnmower scene and the introduction of the owl were always freaky.

I don't know why they felt the need to turn things into musicals... I mean, another prime example is the Land Before Time.

Ironic thing is, 1987 is my birth year.

Yeah, I had no idea for the longest time. Having grown up, I decided to track her down and thank her for having done such a great job in Mrs. Brisby's voice. That character has had such an impact on me through my life in many ways, and then I discovered this. *hugs*

-hugs- Secret of Nimh was so amazing and I adored Mrs. Brisby. Now I'm scared to look up any other voice actors from the old movies.

Play it safe and look up Monte from Captain Planet. You'll be shocked at the voices that actor's been doing, even today.

Just wow, You put this up 3 years ago. An I find it now. I was born in 83. But to know she left this world in 87 is devastating an heart breaking. Don as the crow passed not long ago himself.

Yeah. :( Wasn't a nice death either. She needed help mentally, off her meds, they didn't believe she would kill herself despite her calls and so she killed herself in a bout of craziness.

First thing I ever posted. I'm glad you can appreciate it. The story behind this picture, she brought to life a character that was a child hood hero of mine for most of my life. SO I went to seek out the voice actress to thank her for the influences she has had upon my life. Only to discover, well... what happened to her in the end. I was really broken hearted I had to do 'something.' I'm glad you are touched by this too Zidders. (Smile as we can on such a topic)

It's a story I found really meaningful to me due to my own struggles with depression. I'm a bit torn, though as I feel it's important to inform people about how depression and suicide affect people in order to help reduce the stigma but at the same time I feel bad making people feel sad whenever they see this movie. In the end there are so many more stories I can share to help people through tough times and understand more about the subject that I pretty much keep it to myself. In the end I think she'd rather be remembered for the joy she's brought so many.
