4x4 inches, watercolor
Sometimes I just want to draw a dragon with a classic look. And then I go paint a wyvern. This little creature was one of the sketches I made when preparing for the griffmunk painting, I'll probably finish at least a couple more of those as well!
Because the original sketches were intended as spot illustrations for my website, I threw in a personal requirement to design the watercolor in such a way that it would easily convert into a transparent image that would look decent on any shade of background color. Well, "easy" it was not, but it was definitely possible. Took about an hour of cleanup to get rid of all the things that would look funky on a dark background and still have it look good on white, but it's there now and I've developed some good techniques for the next one!
