So first I've changed a couple things for Kalea in terms of color for minor things. Second I love how this came out with the night. This should come in handy latter. Lastly, The Depths comic still needs help with an extra artist. You can find the journals with more info here:

Island Otter and Male
Party on Ship
The night came and the sun was setting by the time Kalea, Leilani, and the few other guests that were attending arrived at the beach where the ship was docked. There was a rampway to board her and makeshift platform to reach it. “I’m surprised Malana is coming to,” Kalea whispered to her best friend in their native language.
“Oh, Remy was really persistent she come,” the second otter replied and giggled.
“Well I hope he also likes what I’m bringing even if it’s not much.”
“It’s the thought that counts.” Malana in the meantime was grumbling in her head why she had to come as well if Leilani would be here. It had nothing to do with Remy but even though they had talked and interacted, the she otter didn’t think much of the coyote at all.
The small group of otters made it and were careful to swim out to the platform so the gifts wouldn’t get wet. As soon as they got there Nicholas appeared at the top of the ramp and waved to them. “There you are, come up,” the fosky said to them.
Kalea was first in line which wasn’t lost on Leilani or Malana. The night was warm and was why the long-haired male was wearing the usual tank top and shorts. This time the color for the top was green. Nicholas and Kalea smiled with the female blushing more so than him. “Good evening Kalea,” he said. “You look beautiful tonight.”
Her outfit was still the same along with the hair. Still, the otter understood his words and her smile got wider at his words, pleased the male thought so. “Yes and you look handsome now…” she replied.
Kalea then had to step to the side so the others could get on. Nicholas took the gifts and placed them on a table that had the others. The captain of this boat then came out and Leilani went straight to his side. Then Remy himself came out and the whole crew who was out on the deck let out cheers at the birthday coyote. Leilani clapped along with them and Kalea did after some hesitation. Malana on the other hand watched with her arms crossed and a frown on her face. “Thanks all of you for coming!” the canine with earrings said. “I’m pleased. Let us now begin friends!”
The crew began to start setting up for the food. All of this had been done beforehand along with a lot of fishing. Kalea had seen Nicholas and the others do so. It also explained why he had been too busy over the last few days to do story time for the sea otter pups. “Oh, this looks good!” Leilani stated when seeing the many types of prepared sea food.
“Only the best for the guests,” the captain otter next to her replied and she and him smiled.
Kalea’s mouth was watering at the delicious smells and even Malana couldn’t resist the food. “Did you make any?” the first otter asked Nicholas.
“Course I did,” he replied with a smirk and helped himself like her with a plate.
Everyone sat down at the places with Leilani and the captain otter having a table to themselves as he was in charge of the ship. Remy did as well but he invited Malana, Nicholas, and Kalea to his. The first otter was gloomy and quiet but the other two talked with the coyote. Malana tried not to act interested but even she payed attention to the conversation. A pause then happened and Remy saw her acting this way and frowned. “Malana, what is it?” he asked with concern. She shrugged. “You are way to tense Malana, loosen up. A beautiful otter like you shouldn’t be grumpy.”
She blinked several times. “I am beautiful?” the female asked, looking at him. Nicholas and Kalea smirked at each other as they could tell and see what the male coyote was doing.
“Yes, very…” Remy replied. “I guess no one told you, eh?”
Before she could say anything else, the cake came out. The birthday tune was sung. While it was a new thing for Malana and Kalea, Leilani was able to explain the point of the song and what cake was. “You might not like it as you’re not use to it but I love it,” Nicholas told Kalea. She watched the fosky take his fork and take a bite. A look of happiness and content came onto his face and the she otter couldn’t help but smile at that. Kalea then took a turn and let out a squeak due to the taste as it was a different one and the bite seemed to melt a bit in her mouth. But after chewing it a little, she found she liked it.
Up next were the presents and Remy opened them liking them all. Then everyone spent time talking to each other as the food needed to digest before the dancing and music happened. By now night had really fallen and the stars could be seen even with the lights on the ship being on. Malana once again was by herself with a glass of liquid in it. No alcohol was here as there were a few on this crew who were underaged. The sea otter noticed Leilani was talking and very cozy with the captain along with Kalea and Nicholas. She glowered their way and took another sip. “Hey, you want some company Malana?” went a familiar voice.
She looked and saw Remy standing there. “Now you want me here?” the otter asked in an angry tone, letting a chuff out.
“Ah, don’t be like that at all beautiful otter.”
“Why say that? Leilani is more beautiful. She swim more fast. Leilani dive more deep…” The female sighed and her eyes met his. “I mad sometimes but…”
“I know,” the male replied softly. “She’s a big deal aiming to be the next one in charge; I get it. Maybe you feel lost in her shadow, no? But you’re not lost Malana. It’s not a big deal to old Remy here. Even if Leilani was most, most important otter, I do not care.”
Malana stared at the coyote, surprised at him for saying such things that nobody had before. Still, she wasn’t going to let her guard down that easily yet around him even if those things he said were very flattering. She glanced again and saw the other two otters still talking and glared again at them. Remy didn’t notice this at all. Meanwhile Leilani was laughing with the captain as well for Kalea with Nicholas. “Having fun?” he asked her.
“Yes!” she replied, clearly having the time of her life. She hadn’t left his side at all. Just then one of the crew members made an announcement that it was time to dance and sing. The dancing would happen first and a song came on.
“Care to dance?” the otter captain asked Leilani. She smiled and grabbed his paw, the two heading out onto the dance floor.
“Want to join?” Nicholas asked Kalea and she smiled.
“I love to dance…” she whispered and he led her out to.
“I feel like dancing,” Remy said to Malana.
“You go alone,” she chuffed.
“Come on beautiful; just one. Humor me.” The next thing the female knew the coyote had grabbed her paws and was leading her out on the dance floor.
“Hey wait!” Malana stated, tried to pull away but then found herself in his arms. Remy took no notice of this and began to dance with the sea otter. Suddenly she began to smile and didn’t realize it.
“See, it’s not so bad no?” the male asked. Malana realized she was smiling and killed it quicker than it had come onto her face. But she still continued to dance with him.
“You good at this,” Kalea said to Nicholas as he did all the work.
“I love to dance to,” he replied, their foreheads close. The female with him had an identical smile. It was like that for Leilani and the otter captain as well.
After some time of this, the last thing of singing karaoke happened. A few of the crew members came up including Remy. They each did a song and while the otter guests didn’t fully understand the words, they still liked the songs and applauded. Even Malana joined in, especially after Remy had finished his. This surprised her but then the captain spoke up. “Alright, who’s next?” he asked.
The rest of the crew looked to the fosky who was sitting with Kalea. “Really?” he commented. “And I almost got away with it with not singing.”
“Come on!” Remy stated. “You’ve got a good voice, no?”
“I’d like to hear,” Kalea said to the long haired male. “I like music to…”
“Then I will for you since I do as well…” She watched him get up on stage with a soft smile. Everyone turned their attention to the long-haired male, even Malana. The guy spent a few seconds on the machine choosing the song and picked one.
“Now I think this is a good one for a night like this,” he said and the song Smooth began to play (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcUxrpIwuQ4 ). Everyone on the boat knew this but to the guests this was something new except Leilani. After the intro Nicholas began to sing.
Man, it's a hot one
Like seven inches from the midday sun
Well, I hear you whispering in the words, to melt everyone
But you stay so cool
My muñequita, my Spanish Harlem, Mona Lisa
And you're my reason for reason
The step in my groove, yeah
And if you said that this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
It’s cause you're so smooth, yeah
And it's just like the ocean that’s under the moon
Well it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
So give me your heart, make it real or else forget about it
By this point Leilani and the captain were dancing again with each other. Others were singing softly and Kalea watched on blown away by how good Nicholas sounded.
Well I'll tell you one thing
If you would leave it’d be a crying shame
In every breath and every word
I hear your name calling me out
Well out from the barrio
You hear my rhythm on your radio
You feel the turning of the world, so soft and slow
Turning you round and round
And if you said that this life ain't good enough
I would give my world to lift you up
I could change my life to better suit your mood
It’s cause you're so smooth, yeah
And it's just like the ocean that’s under the moon
Well it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
So Give me your heart, make it real or else forget about it
The bridge then came on. Although Kalea didn’t catch every word, she still like the way this sounded. She began to sway in her seat eyes on Nicholas who was doing the same thing on the stage. She could tell he really enjoyed this like her. Her smile was big now.
And it's just like the ocean that’s under the moon
Well it's the same as the emotion that I get from you
You got the kind of lovin' that can be so smooth, yeah
So give me your heart, make it real or else forget about it
Or else forget about it
Or else forget about it
Let's not forget about it
Give me your heart, make it real
Let's not forget about it
Let's not forget about it
Let's not forget about it
Let's not forget about it
Let's not forget about it
The song came to an end and it was Kalea who clapped the loudest. Nicholas came off the stage and approached her smiling face. “Gods that beautiful!” she declared. “You are good!”
“I’m glad you liked it,” the fosky replied.
A few more songs then happened and then everyone realized it was getting late. But Nicholas wanted to do one more song and the rest thought he should to. Kalea watched him again with a soft smile but also wondering what it would be this time as he got on the stage. The male choose the song and it was There’s Nothing Holding Me Back (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsPLplYE4Mk ). Like before the otters hadn’t heard of it but Leilani had. Kalea also like the way this sounded and after the intro Nicholas began to sing.
I wanna follow where she goes
I think about her and she knows it
I wanna let her take control
'Cause every time that she gets close, yeah
She pulls me in enough to keep me guessing
Mhmmm
And maybe I should stop and start confessing
Confessing, yeah
Oh, I've been shaking
I love it when you go crazy
You take all my inhibitions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
You take me places that tear up my reputation
Manipulate my decisions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
Leilani and the captain danced again as Nicholas was a little himself before letting out a whoop.
There's nothing holding me back
Kalea had her paws crossed under her chest while looking onto the male now with a dreamy smile.
There's nothing holding me back
She says that she's never afraid
Just picture everybody naked
She really doesn't like to wait
Not really into hesitation
She pulls me in enough to keep me guessing
Ooohhhh
And maybe I should stop and start confessing
Confessing, yeah
Oh, I've been shaking
I love it when you go crazy
You take all my inhibitions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
You take me places that tear up my reputation
Manipulate my decisions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
Kalea felt the rhythm now and was tapping her foot, her thick rudder otter tail slapping the deck a little.
There's nothing holding me back
Then the bridge came on and her eyes along with Nicholas’s met.
'Cause if we lost our minds and we took it way too far
I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright
If you were by my side and we stumbled in the dark
I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright
'Cause if we lost our minds and we took it way too far
I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright
If you were by my side and we stumbled in the dark
I know we'd be alright, I know we would be alright
Oh, I've been shaking
I love it when you go crazy
You take all my inhibitions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
You take me places that tear up my reputation
Manipulate my decisions
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
He gave another whoop.
There's nothing holding me back
And I feel so free when you're with me, baby
And baby, there's nothing holding me back
The song came to an end with that and Kalea stood up to clap. With this, the party came to an end. But a few more words had to be said. Leilani and the captain said goodnight and she gave him a kiss on the cheek. It was a little different for Malana when saying goodnight to Remy. “So… come on admit it, you had fun no?” he asked her before she left and the otter let out a sigh.
“You got me… yes I did,” the female replied. Malana then went down the ramp and the coyote was smiling at her departing form before retiring to his room.
“Oh gods, that was so good!” Kalea said to Nicholas. “You singing them… oh!”
“I’m glad you liked them,” he replied.
“Can you do again when it’s my turn?”
“You mean you’re birthday party? Of course and you’ll like the cake I’ll make.”
“I look forward then…” The two stood there, not sure how to end it. But the two nodded with a smile at the other, looking forward to when it was Kalea’s turn at the end of the month. And this would end up with happy memories and a couple of discoveries.

So this is also a longer one but I love how it came out and look forward to doing more chapters with me and Kalea.
