Ominous Art Deco elevator ride is ominous...
Thanks to
dusk for fixing Deuce's dialogue in the first panel; I need to be more ridiculous with his over the top greaser accent lol. Also for helping me with some exposition gettin' in Gozu's head with some really cool-sounding inner noir monologue. The big guy doesn't say much but this Oni's got layers man, like an onion.

Oh, Deuce.... Indeed. Gozu is quite correct, it's NEVER that simple.
Wonderful work on the expressions. The lack of reaction from the rest of the characters just emphasizes how clueless Deuce is at this moment with his naïve optimism. I'm sure he'll learn in time, but hopefully he'll survive the lesson.
