The lineart was started a couple years ago already, but I finally finished this one recently. I just really wanted to redo an older piece of mine that used to be very popular as a print, but was just, well... too old! Maybe some of you remember this one! https://www.furaffinity.net/view/149429/

The older piece has always been something of a favorite of mine, so it's really neat to see the idea revisited, and in such stunning detail! The background looks amazing, especially the ocean, and particularly where the water is washing up onto the beach. All of the little ripples and waves are beautifully done, and I really like that you went to the trouble of making the water over the beach actually translucent instead of just having it as entirely white foam. It's a wonderful little touch of realism. The character herself is simply gorgeous, too. As others have noted, the detail on her fur looks great, particularly on her tail and the bit of fluff at her throat. I've always really liked the idea of drinking straight from the bottle like that, and having it upended and balanced so delicately. I suppose those long muzzles come in handy now and then. Plus it's just a really cute idea.
It's really neat to see this next to the older piece and to see how much your art has evolved and improved over the years. You've always done great work and today it really is simply stunning!

I love this one so much! The original version was one of the first pictures I remember seeing from you and, honestly, was part of why I decided to watch you in the first place. I know it can be kind of embarrassing to look back on your older work. I cringe hard every time I read any of my super old writing. But you've always had a talent for very interesting and beautiful art, and for coming up with character and scenarios that feel really unique and interesting, and it's super cool to see you revisit such a lovely piece. You've done an outstanding job with this new version, too. The detail of everything from her fur, to the beach, to the ocean is simply breathtaking and your skill with translucent things like the bottle, the martini glass and the water on the beach has improved so, so much! I like the subtle little details, too, like the way the wine in the bottle is slightly canted, since even balanced in her muzzle like that, it wouldn't be totally level, and the change in the positioning of the legs seems to somehow make her look more comfortable, and more confident as well. It just has a more relaxed and self assured sort of vibe, I think. I like the added flourishes to her design in the form of the added stripes to her hips, arms and legs, and the lighting and the more vivid colors make this such a gorgeous piece all around! If I may be so bold, you should be very proud of this piece and of how far your art has come since the original. But I think you should be proud of your older work, too. Every piece was another step along the road, and not everyone has what it takes to stick to it for that long.
Thank you! I'm super happy with how far I've come, but it's cool to revisit something like this because I loved the idea of the old piece (and loved the piece itself too back then for a while). Hopefully one day I can look back at this one too and go "hey, this was really cool, now I'll make something better"! :)
I hope she isn't drinking too strong a drink, or she's going to have fun standing up after emptying the bottle.
also, I think my favorite is the shading on the sail thing behind her. not sure what it's called in english, wind breaker?
either way, it's all awesome and I just adore the shading.
