Believe it or not it is exactly ten years since my 12th birthday - the year I got my first games console, a Sony Playstation, was 1999. I had already been playing games on the PC, but it wasn't a dedicated games console. Once I got my zealously anticipated new console, I was never off it! Then, in late 2001 on my 14th birthday I got a Playstation 2. I bought a Gamecube in early 2004 with Xmas money (and my friends all had them). My interest in games slowly waned a little but never expired during the middle of the noughties. The excitement I had at the end of the 90s had pretty much gone.
Eventually I got back into gaming when I got a Playstation 3 as a gift for Xmas 2008. My pals who owned Wiis weren't too happy with the gimmickyness of them, and I refused to consider an Xbox 360 because my brother already had one and I didn't fancy any of his games. So I went for the aforementioned PS3, and I'm satisfied that I made the right descision.
The three depictions of me drawn above are simply depictions of my furry self at the ages of 12, 17 and 22 respectively! It's been a long decade, but I enjoyed the best games I played during that time - they're not all illustrated above, but it should give you an indication as to what games meant a lot to me over the last ten years. Enjoy!

I own all 3 Sly Cooper games. I played the first one on the same time it was released, but i never finished it. (I quit without saving and my saved game was lost.) Eventually, i recieved the next 2 games and the strategy guides for 1&2 (the one for 3 apparently was discontinued), and i started Sly 1 over again. I still never finished it, and because of other distractions such as my acting class, my favorite TV shows, DVD viewings (which i use the PS2 for), and recently, cross-stitching, my interest in video games has now completely waned. Hopefully, i will get back in the habit of of it, but it's probably going to be a very long time.
And even if there is a Sly Cooper 4, it would only be released on the PS3, which i will never own.

Crash
Spryo
Laura
GTA 3, San Andreas
Sonic (Curious as to which one though. DX?)
Sly
Those ones you have ROCK.
I think my Vid game addiction started on the PSOne as well, but with Vigilante 8 and Vigilante 8 Second Offense. A few of my friends used to call it the Twisted Metal Ripoff, but I loved the actual story to it.

[color=I remember growing up with a lot of these video games. My first game console was a Nitendo and the first game was a Mario Brothers game. Then a few years later, I got Play Station 2 and my sister got a Nintendo Game Gube with a Pokemon Gale of Darkness game. The first game I got for the Playstation 2 was Gran Turismo 2. I later added Gran Turismo 3, Gran Turismo 4, Need For Speed Underground 2, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, and other games as well.

Nice job on rendering Lora Croft, Spiro the Dragon, Sonic the Hedgehog, Ratchet, Crash Bandicoot, and Sly Cooper Raccoon.

Yeah...I remember sitting around a single Game Boy with my two brothers at Christmas...man must have been 100 years ago allready. Anyways around this time what you get first did choose if you were fighting for Nintendo or Sega at the school yard....so my destiny was set.
Today all that is left of the glory day of fighting out the console wars is a Nintendo Console with only a hand full games you don“t have to be ashamed to play them and a Hedgehog that - after delivering some great Games on Dreamcast and some true classics on megadrive, with also the DS and GBA Games were still worth a good look - is only starring in games so laughable bad it makes you cry today.
So while Nintendo is only worth talking about when there is a new Mario or Zelda or Metroid Game in the making and Sonic...well he needs some serious help instead of new Games...thank god we still have the PS3 and Xbox 360 worthy to bitchcrymoan about what is the better console...for another 10 years of console wars (and laughable bad Sonic games...man thanks mum and dad for giving us a game boy...Iam sure I would have killed myself allready if the wannabecool hedgehog and not some plumber was my fav videogame mascott)

I feel bad for the Sonic series because Sonic Team just isn't trying hard enough. 3D hasn't been kind to Sonic and co, so it needs a desperate overhaul.
That said, in every console war it's been proven that two is company and three is a crowd, like what happened with the Sega Saturn. Only recently have three consoles together been in good competition with each other; the sixth generation went four ways, but the Dreamcast jumped ship early before any proper console war could kick off.

Yeah DReamcast was without a doubt one hot console...all that Arcades like Zombie Revenge...or making my thumb bleeding with Street Fighter 3... ahhh the memories...they come back.
I think the winner of the console war are those people who play games because they are fun for them and not listening to someone else (I mean there are sure ppl who had fun with Sonic Unleashed and the Dark Knight Thing...I mean it is oaky...I understand...some people have fun cuting of theire testicles and boil them..the result may be the same)
So yeah I raised as Nintendokid but every console has his awesome classics you connect to your childhood :)

'in regards to Sonic in 3-D' THANK YOU! Exactily what I was thinking. There is rumour that SEGA is planning to reboot the franchise with a new 2-D game, however a few hardcore SEGA fans, would like for them to revive several of their old and forgotten franchises like Streets of Rage, Kid Chameleon, Golden Axe, Alex Kidd, Altered Beast, Shinobi, etc.
