This is a Grey Lynx mask I sort of gave up on. Mostly because I did this as a "use your own eyes" mask and it didn't quite look "lynx-y" enough for me, because of eye proportions. Probably going to make a Taxidermy eye style mask instead. The fur isn't glued to the mask (the reason for the fur gaping)... all the markings are hand sewn in.

Ahs... hmms. Basically I use fabric glue to lightly cover the backing of the fur I'm marking with (the black in the mask)... that way I can cut small pieces of fur than usual. On the stripes I actually sew the small strips in by hand... on the spots I make a hole in the gray fur and make a black fur plug... if the plug is big enough I put tie it in with a couple of stitches, then add fabric glue to the backing to keep it in place.
