A young princess of a fantasy kingdom in the desert, who has spent most of her life being sheltered and cared for by a staff of attendants. As a result, she's naive and spoiled; always expecting things to go her way and not really fully understanding the concept of ulterior motives. She received a personally-tailored education from staff hired by her father. As part of it, she was taught the ability to change the weather in her land.
Appearance:
- fairly tall, at just under 6 feet in height -- she's about a full head taller than most of her maids and other staff.
- she is also very heavyset, a result of her largely sedentary lifestyle. While one could describe her bosom as prominent under most circumstances, it is dwarfed somewhat by the hefty paunch of chub around her middle. It rests right about at the upper limit of her thighs.
Attire:
- She's usually seen in a bikini and loincloth, her arms decorated with golden bands. Translucent silken fabric hangs from her hips and runs between the two bands on her upper arms. She'll wear the bikini bottom and loincloth at varying levels depending on her degree of comfort; slipping her belly over both of them particularly when she's sitting down.
- When she's dressed more properly, she usually opts for simpler dresses; anything showier and more befitting a European princess is just too heavy and stuffy for the heat of her home.
Hobbies:
She is an avid fan of belly-dancing and poetry, spending much of her ample free time on both. She has an eye for both fine art and antiques, and when she is out and about she will often try and find genuine articles to decorate her quarters.
Relationships:
- More-or-less bisexual, with a preference for other women.
- Her father spends much of his time away from home, and her mother died in childbirth. As a result, she doesn't have any strong attachments to her immediate family; and while she appreciates the gifts from overseas from her dad, the two do not regularly communicate.
- Her family, such as it is, is her attendant staff - a series of maidens who help tend to her quarters, provide her with conversations, and assist in cooking and shopping; as well as her tutor. She has had more intimate relationships with the former, though rarely does it cross over into anything sexual; she just enjoys the personal company while taking a hot bath or when getting into bed.
About her magic:
Most of her magic skills are practical. Though she didn't have a say in it, she takes pride in working as essentially a miracle worker for her home kingdom. The most significant ability she has is the ability to manipulate the weather. Rather than outright conjuring the materials needed to do so, she reaches out and upward into the higher limits of the atmosphere; and far to the furthest reaches of the desert for water vapors, underground water, and other sources. She can both focus the water into one place to create an artificial lake; or seed the sky with the water vapor; sand; and particulates to create rain showers. Besides this, she has some basic healing spells, which she uses to purge diseases as requested. Though there may be some way to weaponize this magic, she was never taught how to do this; and in general she avoids direct conflict.
About her homeland:
As mentioned, it is a desert kingdom surrounded by arid mountains and more desert. A river once ran through the center of the land, but it has been dammed off for several years by a political and business rival of her father. He has been spending considerable time since then to try and negotiate an agreement to run irrigation lines to their homeland.
Her mother was the previous maiden responsible for working miracles. The strain of using magic to work said miracles shortened her life considerably, a fact kept secret from Amira for fear that she would reject the role if she knew the circumstances behind her mother's death.
Other tidbits:
- She's not embarrassed about her figure, exactly, but her tendency to outgrow her furniture, so to speak, IS somewhat humiliating.
- In a more modern/non-fantasy setting, she's merely a belly dancer with a love for showing off and sharing her passions with others.
