I can't really call these World War 2 style bombers steampunk anymore, they've definitely gone into the region of petrol driven engines. I was not intending to model bombers like these, but they evolved out of my attempts to turn my steampunk helicopter into a fighter plane. Somehow it ended up with three big engines and giving off every appearance of a bomber. It looked interesting to me, so I kept this version anyway. :D

dieselpunk. I like the concept. I was just looking at some youtube vids on how trucks from the 50-s and 60s are driven. I saw an old b series mack running a "triplex" transmisssions 2 shifters, 15 foreward gears. 5 speed front transmission, 3 speed in back of it. I dont know how the dude kept it straight. He had to use BOTH hands! Trucks back then were not designed to be pretty, well, maybe the mack b, but if you look at an autocar for example, its all business, form following function wwith only a few styling cues. Inside you'll find all kinds of levers whose functions were taken over by electronics and air as time went on. They look more like trains and aircraft, zinc chromate green interior with access panels, simple gagues, all on an assemblage of steel slabs.
