Don't know why I chose this song, but in my head it sounded like it might be interesting to do acoustically or acapella. I chose to do it with the normal picking on my guitar. I am not really a fan of her particularly but I don't mind her sometimes.
Song is by Lady GaGa.
Sung throughout by myself, yes, even those harmonies (people always ask!)
Guitar is also myself playing.
Just a short one cuz the whole song felt a bit boring otherwise? and also wtf, how would I sound doing the spoken bit at the end? lol I can't even go there!

hmmm its not usually that bad, so i guess it's a bit odd. ^_^ Maybe it will change at some point for you. I tried to reduce all the noise as much as I could but it decreases the sound quality a bit. Also there are some crackles i nthere when i sing too loud, but they're not quite as bad as you are describing.
I dunno really :)

I think about 20 seconds in, you really start to shine. The intro I think lets the guitar chords drown out your vocals a bit too much. They way you layer your voice over itself is done so well, it really adds a lot of character to your music from what I've heard. But yeah, I think over all, you really presented a great track here.
Also, did you start out wanting to do this track as an acoustic, or was it going to be too much work to cover it in her own style/music?

No I wanted it acoustic, with the vocals really doing the talking so to speak. The intro is supposed to be pretty quiet since it kinda merges in with the other harmonies when they kick in. I am not clued up about music production, I jsut kind of make it all up as I go and fiddle with programs. This program is Audacity, freeware. I haven't had it long so I am still playing with it. ^_^ I did wonder about the guitar, but when i took it down a few decibels it sounded TOO quiet. I just left it a bit lower than the vocals in the end.
Glad you critiqued and complimented my sample :) I have fun with these, they aren't so serious really. x

The mic sounds like a stud one XD, thats great. I have a 18$ Headset and its kinda crap. I am thinking about an expensive headset or a studio mic.
Well, if you need preamps (cheap ones) look for the Tapco series from Mackie. You can find them cheap at ebay. They are especially good, because theres absolute no hissing, when you use a mic. I think a cheap mic from fame would do the run. However, thats what I wanted to buy.
But nevertheless, great job. Sounds awesome.

Oh cool, thanks for the tip :D I have no idea about pre-amps, I just know they're prolly quite important. My friend has told me about them, cuz the sound is too quiet when i plug into a soundcard directly. I will bear this in mind and look on ebayz! Thank you very much :D x
