One of my first oil paintings, finished in 2016. Although he was the subject of many suitable descriptors from friends whenever I’d post work in progress shots of this guy– including ‘cheeky’, ‘sassy’, and the all-important ‘ayyy gurl’– in the end I titled him ‘Vain Violet’ because I’m a shameless sucker for alliteration.
