So I recently discovered I adored drawing mice and rats aaand I made a rat girl of my own. At first she was just gonna be a kind of one-off character but then she started talking and a friend and I started to roleplay and now yeah she's got a pretty expansive story oops. So yeah! I hope you guys like her~!

Illya was born something of a princess in a land with many small kingdoms whose territories were run by their respective lordships. The land was remote, and the many small kingdoms knew peace. However, after a while word spread of the successful and prosperous kingdoms. This invited bandits, thieves, and vikings to pillage the wealth. One by one the small kingdoms fell, not used to conflict and too isolated from the rest of the world to call allies. When Illya was born, it was decided that she would be sent away to the countryside to keep her safe from the impending threat. And so, she grew up in a small village that primarily fished and farmed.

She was cared for by a trusted family friend with the only thing from her heritage being a family heirloom her parents gave her, holding the crest of her family. She learned how to fish and farm and some fighting skills, enough to defend herself. However, the more delicate things is what she excelled at, such as etiquette, diplomacy, and embroidery. All things a princess would have natural abilities for. In the end, no one knew what became of her kingdom or the others. However, when she hit adulthood a group of vikings and barbarians found the small village, targeting it and burning it to the ground as they pillaged. They left no house standing and it was a miracle Illya survived.

Illya left the village, needing to find a new home. She had been given a single location by her caregiver in case anything happened to her or the village. Now, she travels to learn the mystery of that location and the odd crest she's always had.
