This is a commissioned 9"x 12" piece for
of her character, Leatherkatt, who is, as she describes herself, an "owl winged knot-work striped white Siberian tiger".
All I can say is that knotwork, though beautiful, really made me work those art muscles lol. Drawing her was easy enough, thanks to the detailed descriptions in Eclypse's journal...but oh that knotwork!
I ended up doing everything *but* the knotwork - including the background and all the coloring - first, and then filling the patterns in last. I actually wasn't going to put a background in at first, because I was afraid it would be too busy and distract from the main character, but I'm happy I did because I think the contrast of white fur and green forest works really well. =)
She is looking in the mirror at her...I guess dark side? She has bioluminescent markings that glow blue under a black light, so I wanted to show a bit of both in this picture...though in the end, you don't see much of the glowy markings in the reflection, except for the markings on her face.
Anyway, I hope you like it Eclypse! =) (And I hope I didn't screw the patterns up too much lol)
*pant pant* This artist needs a good nap after that one lol
P.S. What looks grey in this pic is actually silver, done with my silver sharpie marker. Looks way cool when the light flashes on it. =)

Celtic Animal Badge with Illumination
Celtic PawPrint Badges
The set I did for Kaz and Flaer is $25. The set that I did in the first link is $30. The badges alone are $10, the bordered illumination is $20 (because the original for Kaz and Flaer didn't have the border, I let it go for $5). If I do 2 characters with the knot-work Border for the illumination plus 2 badges, that would be $45: $25 for the knot-work illumination and two animals, plus two badges at $10 each.

I like this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2864441/ and also this one: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/2952826/ Either style, maybe just my character to keep things simple. =) That would be....$30 plus shipping right? I could do a 6" x 9" of Darren and throw in some sort of badge or something to even it out, if that sounds good to you. This would be in December btw, cuz that's when I'm going to be working on trades and personal art.
Okie dokie then...I'll let you know when I'm starting yours. I try not to take longer than a week on a project, is that enough time for you? If yours takes longer its fine with me...I'm not one to rush other artists cuz I myself don't like being rushed. I'll note you once I figure out when I'll be working on it. =)
Yeah, a week is plenty of time. It usually only takes me 2-3 days at most to do those. I don't blame you, I don't like being rushed either, nor do I like rushing artists. All I ever ask is that they try to get as close to accurate for my characters as they can draw. I really like what you did this time around, which is why I want to commission more from you. **smiles**
By the way, the way you did the markings in the mirror they look like they're glowing a bit against the black. **grins**
