My beautiful Peryton character for an upcoming D&D campaign. A Peryton is a monstrous bird/deer hybrid that is impervious to all but magical weapons, is almost always chaotic evil, and has a penchant for eating the beating heart of it's prey. Keshyrii is doubly hybrid; her bird component is a mix of gyrfalcon and boreal owl, and her deer component is a mix of red and fallow deer.
She has known only confinement and the feeling of chains her whole life; just as a wealthy lord might keep chained lions or tigers near their throne as a symbol of power (and a means to eliminate those who have gravely disserviced them), Keshyrii has been kept as a trophy pet/threat by an evil sorceress, Melusina Vonner. While she does not dislike her situation - she is fed regularly and gets the fresh hearts she so craves - she despises Melusina for keeping her in chains, away from the sky and the wind, the trees and her prey. She is unable to take any action against her captor, so she remains waiting in that tower for a brave group of adventurers to come and slay the sorceress and set her free. She might even join them...
