this is a little poetry that i made based off of a kindy dark/sad time i went through a little while ago. I've never done anything like this so please don't judge me to harshly



Masks by Tammy

What makes us hide our face?
Is it that we think were ugly or out of place?
A fear that others won’t see?
Or a fear that others will see?

A mask for work a mask for school
A mask for my parents who think me a fool
A mask for my friends, least they leave
A mask for me beats hiding behind my sleeve

How many masks do I wear?
How could I leave my skin bare?
Could I handle the world judging me?
Or could I not handle them rejecting me?

I make new masks that smile at everyone.
I smile along with it in all of the fun.
But I dare not take my masks off then
Or my new friends will think I’ve deceived them

So I wear my masks, some big some small
I create more masks to cover them all.
I smile from ear to ear even though it’s sappy
I like it when my mask makes others happy
