All Creatures of our God and King
Let me preface this with a disclaimer: Not for the rhythmically challenged.
So I was listening to a youtube video dealing with odd time signatures, and this song had been stuck, unfinished on my hard drive for over a year, when it suddenly occurred to me, Hey! Why not put this in a really funky time signature and give that old hymn some spice? So that's exactly what I did. It starts in the original meter (3/2) and then jumps tempo and meter to 134, and a 7/4 signature. Also jumps into 4/4 a few places. Overall, it gives it a nice groove and almost a Latin feel.
Written for four part choir, SATB.
Original music by Geistliche Kirchengesang.
Lyrics attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi.
Arrangement by yours truly, Trinity Dragon.
