Sunny Blaze was born in Tallahassee, Florida on June 21, 1998. She was named after her grandmother. In her short time being raised in Florida, young Sunny developed a taste for spending time outside on hot summer days. When she wasn’t outside, Sunny was accompanied by a stern, but still loving father and a calmer and equally as loving mother. On days when her parents were busy, young Sunny was sent over to her grandmother’s house; the same grandmother that Sunny was named after.

Sunny’s relationship with her grandmother would prove to be very influential on the way her personality and values would develop. Around her father, Sunny would opt to develop a rough-and-tough persona to match his. This would go on to be utilized as Sunny struggled to fit in at school. When Sunny displayed this persona around her grandmother the first time, she was told something she had never heard before. Sunny’s grandmother told her granddaughter that she didn’t need to act tough and grumpy around her. She acknowledged that when Sunny was with her, she didn’t need to be afraid of hiding weakness. Establishing a safe environment for Sunny to act like herself made the time with her grandma very precious for the young girl. Around her grandmother, Sunny learned to be more kind and to hold family as a primary value.

After second grade, things would have to change for Sunny. The family would move from Tallahassee to Blossom Park, Michigan, a far way from home. The change was a very difficult adjustment for Sunny. At school, she found that she still struggled to fit in, and the fright of a new environment caused Sunny to raise up her tough-girl persona to stick up for herself. Becoming somewhat of a class bully, Sunny’s behavior took a nosedive upon moving to Blossom Park. She became homesick quickly, and took it out on the world around her. Two seasons after moving into Blossom Park, Sunny would meet her best friend, Rain. Rain had the positive outlook to shut down all of the anger Sunny expressed, and the two would gradually grow to be the only friends they ever had.

Sunny’s life in Blossom Park, as she grew up, would go from being uncomfortable to finally feeling at home. Though she never got used to the winters that the Midwest had to offer, Sunny had her friend Rain to keep close, and the two learned to enjoy life at Blossom Park. Things would stay as normal until the summer before tenth grade for the two.

Sunny’s grandmother fell victim to an accident that occurred as a consequence of her growing age. The devastated family chose to move back to Florida to provide support and help. The news put Sunny into a very poor mood- one that caused her to have an outburst toward Rain before she moved. This led to Sunny never being able to properly say goodbye to her best friend, a move that would go on to occasionally depress her in the future.

During the two years that Sunny was at her grandmother’s side, her value for family fully developed fully. Sunny’s grandmother eventually passed away two years after Sunny moved back to Florida. Her family decided there was nothing left for them there at Florida, and they moved to Garter Lake, Colorado, where Sunny completed her rather uneventful high school career.

After graduation, Sunny kept the direction of her life dormant and took time to rest from academics. In a miraculous turn of events, she was stunned to see her old friend Rain walking downtown. Rain, who had just moved into Garter Lake herself to pursue college, happily offered for Sunny to be her roommate. She explained it would be a great way to ease the rent and teach Sunny the ways of life without her parents. Sunny was more than thrilled to accept, though she never expressed her excitement on the outside.

As of the present, Sunny still lives with Rain and both attend Garter Lake College. Sunny aims to pursue a culinary career and dreams of at least “landing a job in a half decent restaurant.” With her family close by in Garter Lake, Sunny enjoys visiting them from time to time when she can. Otherwise, she works on academics, her job at the local bakery, and using whatever time is leftover to sleep.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Sunny is an aspiring chef who hones above-average and improving cooking skills learned through her family and practice. She considers this one of her only "real talents."

Even for a Florida-born, Sunny appears to have a peculiar tolerance to hot weather and the heat. She has been known by her family to shrug off ninety degree Fahrenheit weather like it is nothing.

Sunny’s most notable strength is her ability to speak her mind and get through unfavorable encounters with her street smarts. Her stubborn personality means she will always find a way to get something she wants if the situation requires it. She can handle condescending people or people who bother her by using the proper comebacks and her quick wit.

At the same time, however, Sunny is impatient and hotheaded every once in a while. She is prone to anger getting the best of her, leading to her stubborn personality working against her as well. Because Sunny is a naturally grumpy person, she may find it difficult to express her positive feelings. An instance of this includes finding herself naturally hesitating to thank somebody for a compliment or a gift. This is compounded by her conscious desire to hide her weaknesses or softer tendencies behind a tough persona.

Sunny’s pride also makes it difficult for her to handle embarrassing or humiliating situations. It is difficult for her to express humility to those she isn’t close with. Her pride and attitude makes it difficult for other people to get along with her as well, leaving Sunny to feel somewhat lonely through her days.

LIKES AND DISLIKES

Sunny enjoys warm and clear days outside. The hotter and the more cloudless the day is, the better. When the nature around is her is calm, she takes pleasure in the feeling of being able to loosen herself up, getting caught in her surroundings.

However, Sunny dislikes even remotely chilly weather, and will instead keep busy indoors in the meantime. Equally as distasteful to Sunny are rainy days; the precipitation providing an irritating feeling to her. When it is warm out, however, Sunny enjoys frequently experiencing the outdoors.

Sunny loves her family members very much, with her closest ties naturally being her mother and father. Her role model was her grandmother, also named Sunny. She looks forward to family gatherings over the holidays and spending time with her local parents. Consequently, things that interfere with Sunny's family or her time with family in a negative way upset her very much. Ranging from the loss of a family member to circumstances disallowing her to visit her family; either will irritate Sunny greatly.

With her family, Sunny has acquired a growing passion for cooking. This makes her job at a local bakery all the more bearable. The simplicity of knowing which ingredients to throw together to create something nice from it draws the redhead into her culinary hobby.

Rain is Sunny's best friend; Sunny holding her with the same regards as any other valued member of the family. She often expresses concern and even discomfort when Rain isn't in her typically positive mood. Because the two aren't actually related, Sunny occasionally uses Rain as an outlet to discuss manners that she wouldn't normally talk about with her blood family members. This all contributes to their ever-tightening friendship.

Among the other things Sunny likes includes spicy wings, her favorite food- in spite of her more sophisticated culinary talents. Her favorite colors are any colors that are warm- red, orange, and yellow. Her favorite animals are rabbits, having had a pet as a child and staying attached to the creatures ever since.

- In casual environments, Sunny wears her heirloom seven-pointed sun hairpin. The center of it is a darker gold while the rays are a lighter harvest gold color. She will not wear this to places she thinks she will lose it.

QUIRKS AND TRIVIA

Sunny, along with her friend Rain, has an inexplicable ability to alter the weather based on the way she dances. Though not a talented dancer by any stretch, Sunny has found that by stomping around and performing passionate displays of movement, she can clear the skies and create conditions for sunnier weather. This is an ability Sunny once abused several times to suit the weather to her liking, but Rain enforces that the two need to be responsible with their powers. Like Rain's rain dances, this dancing doesn't appear to work during the colder seasons.

Growing up, Sunny adapted her tougher traits from her rough-around-the-edges father. Her father was the one to often enforce some discipline to Sunny during her childhood, and he is prone to the same mood swings as his daughter. However, Sunny's mother was always around to keep him in check. Sunny's mother is the calmest of the family, making to keep her daughter and husband from turning into complete sticks in the mud. Sunny has always been able rely on her mother for sentimental or personal help when she grew up.

Being as close to Rain as she has been, Sunny is perhaps one of the only people who knows when not to push Rain's buttons. Living with Rain has taught Sunny that when Rain wants something done, she isn't kidding. Rain requires Sunny to be more responsible around the house- assigning chores to the both of them and setting house rules such as keeping the home clean. Any time Sunny challenges Rain's conditions, she has often been met with Rain finding a subtle, playful, or even conniving way to get revenge. In some instances, Sunny mysteriously finds her beloved hairpin to be mysteriously missing when her grades step out of line.

As a child, Sunny had a pet rabbit named Ms. Floppyears. This shaped a love for the creatures that represents a more innocent and softer side to the redhead. Years after Ms. Floppyears's passing, Sunny still likes wearing clothes with rabbit patterns on them. She has held on to and still sleeps with her pink stuffed rabbit, also named Ms. Floppyears.

A well-hidden fact from anybody except her roommate, Sunny tends to feel lonely outside of her friendship with Rain.
