This is the difference between single-layer and multi-layer OpenCanvas coloring.
This was one of my first forays into the program, and I'm very glad I didn't think to use multiple layer for the shading...it adds a richness and a nice depth, but I think that would have been wrong for the picture...oh my look at me ramble!
