only one of my tenodora sinensis have molted to L3, which is hilarious to me. ah well. this is one of the L2's next to him for a size comparison. they get so much bigger with each molt. i can't wait to have more this size.

Oh! I've never owned insects before... How would you get them to me, and how much are they anyway? I don't know anything about mantis-owning, but thinking about it now, it seems like a really cool thing that I might want to try sometime. :D
Also, how long do they live?

i would be mailing them to you in a deli-cup, most likely. they travel well in those ;3 chinese hatch by the hundreds, so i would say a quarter a piece. they are pretty frail, though, so i would send you a few extra just to make sure they survived the trip. you would need to order some fruitflies (i recommend flycafe.net for your ff needs) until they get old enough for crickets and bigger stuff. they live about a year, give or take, from hatching to death, but they can be bred within their own litter without inbreeding problems, so as long as one male and one female survive, you'll have enough to last as long as you want. the chinese mantids are naturalized here in the US so if you wanted or needed to release them, you likely could without a problem, depending on where you're located. other species you would not.
