This is my boat, the USS Sunfish SSN-649. Beauty shot of the boat breaching the surface while doing an emergency blow of the ballast tanks. It is usually quite a ride when things go right, it is an exercise in terror when it goes wrong. I served on her from 1986-1990. She was decommissioned in 1996 and subsequently dismantled and sold for scrap. Submitted for Veteran's Day.
