Anaina is the kind of Apex that stands as an example to other Apex in the galaxy.  Or, at least, she was before she saw for herself the horrors that the Miniknog was experimenting on unknown to the rest of her people.  Instead of acting rashly, however, she bided her time until she went off-world and defected to the Terrene Protectorate.  She utilizes her knowledge, scientific and tactical, to ensure the Miniknog doesn't hurt anyone else.  She also has enough medical expertise to prevent Sikago from hacking her friends during "treatment."
