It’s a sensation that never fails to excite me, from as far back as I can remember to just last week. The feeling of waking up in the morning to see the light coming in through the window a little brighter than usual. Vision clearing and glasses on, the trees outside appear covered in a coating of white, and that’s when it hits. Out of bed and up to the window, the sight of a blanket of snow, thick or thin, always brings a smile to my face.
This day’s snowfall was rather thin, only about an inch, but with clear skies I still felt the need to take a walk. This road up to Abercregan is almost never gritted when the cold descends, yet people still live in the village and still need to reach work. As I walked the mile or so down the valley, only one car passed me by, moving very slowly and carefully. For that reason, I got to enjoy a peaceful walk on a cold winter’s morning, which I am delighted to share with you now.
Hope you enjoy!

That's a manageable amount of the white stuff. Toronto got over a foot of it Monday, and the snow banks haver basically swallowed cars that were parked on streetsides. It looks pretty and the kids love it, but for commuters it was nothing short of maddening.
Ah well — the youth with their sleds will flock to the hills tomorrow (Saturday), just like in bygone generations!

Good grief! I can just imagine, and I would guess that few companies would be willing to shut ever for such weather. I hope that you were able to stay safe and warm during that time.
Indeed! Given the appeal of the snow across generations (dependant on circumstances, of course), it's just the thing to draw one from the digital devices and out into the world. :)
