Got a silly idea for a story involving a pred writing the pros and cons of digesting their current prey on their own belly, and wrote it up yesterday! Involves perma-vore!
After Kai swallows his roommate during a disagreement, August helps him decide the pros and cons of digesting him for good...
Pros and Cons
By: IndigoRho
Sam rather enjoyed playing video games. The brown rat worked from home, which gave him the opportunity to game for hours on end, even when on call. A sedentary lifestyle—along with copious amounts of takeout—had caused his waistline to balloon out of control the last couple of years. Once fairly thin, Sam was now too doughy to be merely plump but not blubbery enough to be truly obese.
The tank top he wore when lazing around the apartment was too small, incapable of completely covering his soft gut no matter how much he pulled and tugged. It was an idle, futile habit, made even more pointless by the fact Sam didn't particularly care if his middle was exposed in the privacy of his own apartment.
All-in-all the rat was content with how things were going in life. His roommate Kai, on the other hand, was becoming increasingly frustrated with the more selfish aspects of Sam's behavior.
The white-and-blue koi dragon patiently waited for Sam to get done with a cutscene so he could speak up. “Hey Sam, mind if I tag in for a bit? I wanted to see if I could unlock a few things before the guys come over tomorrow.”
Sam didn't even turn to acknowledge Kai. “I'm kind of on a roll here, maybe later.”
“Dude you've been playing all day, and I only want on for like a couple hours, max.” Kai didn't think his request was unreasonable, and he'd been meaning to be more assertive with his old friend.
“Maybe later.”
Being so casually brushed aside made Kai furious. Ever since Sam had started working from home he'd gotten more and more difficult to deal with. Suddenly every nagging issue Kai had with his roommate—both big and small—came flooding into his mind. Neglected chores, excessive noise, swiped food, eating the pizza guy he'd ordered. Though they'd been friends for years, Kai felt it was necessary to humble Sam a little.
Without warning Kai stepped in front of Sam and shoved the rat's head right into his open mouth.
The controller dropped out of Sam's paws as his world abruptly grew dark and wet. By the time he thought to fight back his shoulders were slipping past Kai's jaws and his snout squeezed by a fleshy throat.
Kai swallowed as fast as he physically could, wincing at the strain. If Sam managed to free himself he'd certainly try and eat Kai in revenge, and that would end with him as a few more layers of permanent rat fat. Kai himself didn't plan on actually digesting Sam—he merely wanted to prove a point and hopefully convince him to be less of an ass. A chat would've been less crass and risky, but stewing in a stomach tended to have a stronger impact than words.
Of course Sam was unaware of his seemingly treacherous friend's intentions, and struggled with all the fury of someone who didn't want to get eaten alive. He writhed and squirmed, blindly to kick at Kai and dislodge himself from their throat before he started sliding into the stomach. Still seated on the couch and with his arms pinned to his sides, Sam's efforts amounted to nothing, pitifully easy to counter despite the weight difference between pred and prey.
Kai finally reached Sam's belly, and his own began to balloon outward in turn. The koi dragon rarely ate such hefty prey. His progress slowed some, jaws forced wider than usual to take in the rat's round ball gut. The pudge was wonderfully soft in Kai's maw, like swallowing a giant marshmallow whole. He couldn't resist sneaking a quick squeeze of Sam's love handles before they were gulped down, which prompted a fierce wiggle from the rat.
An arm was slid under each of Sam's thick thighs as Kai hefted the rat up off the couch, halfway finished with his temporary meal. Once Sam's rump was passed Kai's lips his chances of escaping plummeted to essentially zero.
Gravity sped up the rat's consumption, his legs vanishing at an astonishing rate. Kai had to slide his claws down to his bulging belly to maintain his balance lest he topple over. Falling onto his gut could force him to cough up Sam, and such a silly accident was a terrible way for a pred's fortunes to be reversed.
Despite all the pounding and wiggling Sam was doing within the koi dragon's stomach, Kai remained standing, and soon the last of the rat was shoved into his mouth, jaws closing tight.
Kai groaned and rubbed his massive gut, winded. He was swaying some from all the weight and squirms, and punched his middle out of spite more than once. A few heavy steps turned him around, and then Kai fell back onto the couch, victorious.
“Damn, even when ambushed you're a pain to eat, dude,” Kai grumbled, watching his distended gut wobbling, faint imprints from paws pushing out at various points. “No wonder you haven't ended up on someone's waistline.”
Deep in Kai's gut, Sam was shouting almost incoherently, his words muffled but audible enough. He was—understandably—demanding to be let out, and making plenty of threats that had no weight as long as he was still trapped. Nothing Kai hadn't heard before from soon-to-be-digested meals, though it was admittedly amusing to hear a friend saying them.
“Quiet down before I start belching up all your precious air!” Kai snickered, enjoying his position of power. “Just think of it like a time-out. Think about how you could be a little bit more respectful while I game, and once I'm done I'll free ya. There won't even be a single acid stain on your clothes!”
The koi dragon laughed, his whole belly shaking along with him. His promise only marginally calmed Sam, who had quickly shifted to begging and pleading instead.
Kai ignored him. Reaching the fallen controller was difficult, but inevitably Kai managed to snatch it back up and exit out of the game Sam had been playing, not even bothering to save it for him. Another lesson, he told himself. He shimmied forward on the couch until his gut didn't completely block the TV, and finally began to play himself.
For half-an-hour Kai continued as if nothing was out of the ordinary, rarely responding to the panicked Sam aside from the occasional teasing belly rub. He made sure to swallow plenty of fresh air for Sam, and his stomach was more interested in massaging the rat than digesting him—for the moment.
A loud knock at the front door startled Kai. Without thinking he shouted “Come in!”, and the door opened wide.
A doughy gray lion strolled in, showing a mix of surprise and approval once he saw how engorged Kai was. “I was gonna suggest we grab someone to eat tonight, but I see you're a step ahead of me! And from the looks of how round you are they must've been nice and juicy.”
August. Kai had forgotten his friend was going to drop by. “Oh, it's Sam in there actually.”
“Really?” There wasn't any concern in his voice, despite the fact he'd known Sam for quite a while as well. “Didn't think you'd ever get that kind of craving for rat, but I don't like judging others' eating habits.”
“I didn't eat him because I was hungry it's just to make sure he doesn't hog the living room all the time! I'm gonna let him out. Probably.” Sam's struggles picked up again.
“Ah, probably. From personal experience I know how that tends to go.” August chuckled and gave his belly a pat. Like Sam he'd put on quite a bit of weight recently, though the cause had been indulging on others rather than fast food. “Sounds like someone's considering making Sam a permanent addition to their gut—and you will end up with one if you digest him~”
The teasing made Kai blush. His friend did nothing to hide his interest in seeing Kai get fat, and had been encouraging the slim koi dragon's appetite lately.
“Maybe? Honestly I don't really know anymore. Might be for the best to just churn him,” Kai said, putting down the controller and staring at his once-again rowdy gut.
“Well if you're undecided than why don't we go over some pros and cons of eating Sam.” August grabbed a marker from a nearby table and wrote the words “pros” and “cons” on Kai's bulging belly with it. The lumpy, shifting mass wasn't the best writing surface, but he made it legible.
Kai snorted. “Clearly the fairest solution. Though I'm not sure where to start.”
“Let's be fair to Sam and start with the cons. Hmm, you'll probably outgrow some clothes if you eat him.”
“You could've just said I'd get fat.”
“But that'd definitely be a pro~”
Kai rolled his eyes. “Ugh, you really are gonna blimp me up eventually. But anyway, I always keep a set of larger sizes for when I get voracious, so outgrowing my usual stuff isn't an actual issue.”
The koi dragon's gut swayed as Sam shouted in desperation from within. “Please, we're friends, let me out!”
“Dinner has a point,” August said, before writing “friend” on the con side. “But it's not that uncommon for someone to eat at least one friend eventually. Accidents happen! Now let's balance out that con with a pro.”
“I'd get to play video games out here again.”
August scribbled “video games” on the pros side, kneading his friend's gut with a paw as he did.
“And I'm still kind of bitter that he ate Elliot a few years back—he was the best DM I ever played with.”
“I'm just bummed Sam beat me to him,” August said as he added their old acquaintance's name to the list of pros. “Should I play devil's advocate and mention you'd need to find a new roommate?”
“Yeah that's probably a con,” Kai relented, barely holding back a moan as Sam began trying to find a way out of his stomach.
The word “rent” was placed on the cons side, evening the two up again.
“Then again, I'd inherit his video game collection, and his nice bed, and whatever's in his—uorrp—wallet.” Kai was clearly starting to favor digesting the unlucky rat in his gut. He didn't bother swallowing fresh air to replace the stuff he'd belched out.
August drew a trio of dollar signs on the pros side. While he'd been smiling up until then, he momentarily frowned. “Sam's boyfriend probably won't be happy if you eat him.”
It was the first con that actually made Kai think about reconsidering his meal. Sam's boyfriend was a stout rooster who seemed to eat people more often than regular food. If they hadn't been dating for so long, Kai would have assumed Sam was just being fattened up as a convenient meal by them.
“Yeah, he'd need to get dealt with before he figures out what happened,” Kai said. “Could probably lure him over tonight with Sam's phone and have you eat him.”
August's eyes lit up and he licked his lips. “Damn, that's a great idea! I'll still add 'boyfriend' to the cons side, but I'm adding 'fatter August' to the pros~”
The new words were the roughest looking so far, thanks to Kai laughing and Sam squirming up a storm after hearing about the plan to eat his boyfriend.
“You know, if I let Sam out now there's a good chance he'd try to eat me, despite our totally balanced approach to deciding his fate,” Kai mused. “Sounds like another good reason to make his stay in my gut a permanent one.”
There was plenty of muffled instance otherwise from the koi dragon's stomach, but “revenge” was still added to pros.
“Ooh, rat rhymes with fat, which sounds like Sam was destined to be digested by someone inevitably.” Kai pressed down on his belly and forced a belch, his stomach tightening around Sam a little more.
“Definitely a pro,” August grinned as he wrote “rat equals fat” on Kai's wobbling middle. “Plus, you wouldn't have to worry about dinner tonight. That's gotta count for something.”
Kai burped in agreement. He doubted there was much fresh air left in his stomach, and Sam's struggles were weakening. It was amazing how quickly one's motives could change with a little encouragement from mischievous friends.
With a final flourish August put the cap back on the marker and tossed it aside. “Well Sam the verdict is in: seven to three in favor of you making Kai fat! Or at least chubby. Really we should've made the list sooner, then we could've stuffed Sam until he was a real belt-buster of a meal!”
Sam used the last of his energy to squirm in a frenzy, but August put an end to it by pressing hard down on Kai's middle. The koi dragon's cheeks puffed out before he unleashed a loud bworrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrp. Squirms lingered for a minute more, and then dinner was ready to digest.
“Wonder if I'll end up missing him?” Kai chuckled as he lay back on the couch. “We were close in college.”
“Eh, I'm sure you'll be fine. Can't say I spend too much time reminiscing about friends I've turned into meals.” August gave a teasing lick to Kai's belly. He mainly wanted to make the koi dragon blush, but he also admittedly liked sneaking a taste now and then.
“Pfft, great to know I won't be able to haunt you if I end up as a skull on your dresser!” Kai said. “Course if you're so desperate to make me fat, why don't you join Sam in there? A cat and rat combo would do a number on my waistline~”
August couldn't hold back the blushing. “Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to enjoy your belly if I was your belly.” He gave the koi dragon's gut a hearty pat. “Also I'll take that as permission to start plumping you up for real now!”
“Wait, no! I wouldn't be able to ski or swim nearly as well if you had your way!”
“Fat floats!” August said as he wobbled Kai's belly. “You'd look great at three or four hundred pounds—probably less likely to get eaten, too!”
A wet glrrrrrrrgle echoed from Kai's stomach as it went to work on Sam. “Or more appetizing, like my overindulgent dinner. Speaking of which, I should probably grab his Sam's phone so I can lure your meal over. Then we can both shop for bigger clothing tomorrow.”
The idea brought a smile to August's face, and the lion eagerly retrieved Sam's phone from the end table nearby and placed it into Kai's waiting claw. He hadn't expected the night to be so fattening, but he wasn't about to complain. Now he just needed to keep Kai's gluttonous streak going so the koi dragon would get even doughier and cuter. After all, there was nothing better than being surrounded by hefty friends...
