Or, the Artist's Husband as a Unicorn, Mk. 2. Here we see him keeping his eye on an unseen shuttlecock, preparing to send it back over the net (not pictured). This is the first time he's appeared in color, although his brown spots are not evident in this image, as they are generally on his back, shoulders, and bottom. In true heraldic fashion, he has the feet of a goat, the tail of a lion, the body of a deer, and the head of a derp. I considered a traditional tricolored alicorn, but it'd be a little too distracting for the character design. The narwhal-tooth look suits him just fine.
Pencil original, followed by lots of swearing at Photoshop. I think my tablet may be dying or need recalibration or something. Darn thing kept mysteriously scrolling the screen without me getting anywhere near the keys needed to do so, to say nothing of interpreting single-clicks as double-clicks. C'est la vie, at least it still serves me as best it can.
The decorative background was a last-minute addition, and I'm rather fond of it! Levels layers are our friends.
Astute viewers may notice that last time I drew him he had longer hair. This is because the fellow he represents has visited the barbershop between then and now. The overbite and general sense of good-natured goofiness are still the same, though!
